#GuardiansOfTheRoads continue to carry out enforcement operations at various locations across Singapore. Recently, 24 vehicles were caught with non-compliant modifications such as tinted films, decorative lamps, non-standard number plates and modified exhausts. Such modifications can distract other road users, compromise safety and violate noise and emission standards.

We remain committed to enforcing against these violations as part of our broader efforts to make roads safer for everyone.

#PSA We’ve just launched a Request for Proposal (RFP) to seek industry’s proposals on piloting autonomous public bus services.

This RFP will help us assess the technical feasibility and operational requirements for deploying autonomous buses at both individual service and fleet levels! 🚌

The pilot deployment will comprise 6️⃣ autonomous buses on service 400 at Marina Bay/Shenton Way, followed by service 191 at one-north. We are starting with these routes as they are shorter and simpler.

#SafetyFirst During the initial phase, the buses will operate with bus captains onboard as safety operators. Thereafter, a remote safety operator can take over the supervisory role.

The RFP is expected to close in Q2 2025 and awarded by end 2025.

From mid-2026, the autonomous buses will operate alongside our existing manned bus services for an initial period of 3 years.
We’re thrilled to unveil our latest community placemaking initiative at Outram Park MRT: ‘Hope in Every Line’. 🎨🚉

This captivating series of murals, created by local artist, Pow Jun Yang, explores themes of resilience, connection and protection – qualities also embodied by the nearby Singapore General Hospital.

Jun Yang, who battles a rare form of cancer, produced these works during the COVID-19 pandemic. He hopes to share his art with daily commuters and inspire fellow young artists to uplift others through their art.

Brought to life in collaboration with SMRT and ART Outreach, experience his inspiring works on your next journey! 🤍 #ArtInTransit.

Over the past month, our #AMEOs conducted checks on retailers in Yishun, Canberra and Ubi and impounded 20 non-compliant devices. A total of 29 offences were detected, such as:

Displaying and keeping non-compliant devices
Failure to affix identification mark on personal mobility devices and;
Failure to affix registration plate on a power-assisted bicycle.

LTA will continue to take firm action against errant retailers who supply non-compliant devices.

We also continue to enforce against errant active mobility users. Last month, we detected a total of 179 offences, including riding non-compliant or unregistered devices and riding on the wrong paths.

#Reminder For your safety, only purchase and use devices and parts (including batteries) from original manufacturers or official retailers.

#OBU installation: Have you booked your appointment?

Over 250,000 vehicles have already installed their OBUs. We encourage motorists to book soon to get your preferred authorised workshop and timeslot.

#Reminder All owners of eligible Singapore-registered vehicles can book their OBU installation appointment directly with their workshop – just like scheduling a repair or service. There is no need to wait for an official notification. It is also possible to combine the OBU installation with other vehicle services to minimise the downtime.

Visit 👉 go.gov.sg/book-obu for more information or to find an authorised workshop.
