#PSA We’ve just launched a Request for Proposal for a Master Plan consultancy to remake the surface streets along the North-South Corridor (#NSC)!
As we progressively complete the NSC’s tunnel and viaduct, surface streets along the corridor, such as Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 and Ophir Road, can be repurposed (~30 football fields of space!) to give more priority for walking, cycling, buses, and community spaces. 🚴🏽♂️🚶🏻♀️🚌
#DoYouKnow that we’ve been engaging residents and other stakeholders on their ideas (see photos above!) for these spaces since July 2023? #NowYouKnow 🏘️👨👩👧👦
We’re now inviting experienced multi-disciplinary consultancy firms to develop a Master Plan to repurpose these spaces to promote #WalkCycleRide and make the streets along the corridor safer, more pleasant and welcoming for everyone!
Stay tuned for more details! 😎

#PSA 📢 Since the opening of the Thomson-East Coast Line Stage 3 (#TEL3) last year, the average weekday ridership on TEL has almost tripled from 60,000 in Oct 2022 to 177,000 in Oct 2023!
With more commuters using TEL3 (hello shorter travelling time! ⌚), the overall ridership for some bus services 🚌 plying along TEL segments has ⬇️ by ~30-40%. #ChangingTravelPatterns
To reduce duplication of bus services with TEL and to reallocate finite resources to better serve residents from new estates 🏡👪, some bus services will be adjusted from 🗓️10 Dec 2023.
Check out our visuals for more details.

#PSA 📢 Heading to Woodlands MRT station on 30 Nov 2023?
Do note that we will be conducting Exercise Station Guard – an emergency preparedness exercise – from 10am to 4pm on the 🔴 #NSL and 🟤 #TEL.
During the exercise, commuters will be directed towards the #NSL and #TEL fare gates near Exits 3 and 4 respectively. You may be asked to go through metal detector checks and have your belongings scanned by X-ray machines.
💡 #TravelTip Factor in additional time 🕰 for your journey and avoid bringing bulky items since these may require more time to clear security checks.

During our recent enforcement operation, four drivers were caught providing ❌ illegal ❌ cross-border chauffeured services between Singapore and Malaysia.
#PSA We take these offences very seriously. For your own safety, do refrain from using such services. Besides being illegal, the vehicles used may not be sufficiently insured against third party liabilities which could pose a serious problem for passengers should an accident occur.
#Reminder Drivers who are caught providing illegal hire-and-reward services, including cross-border services without a valid Public Service Vehicle License (#PSVL), can be fined up to $3,000, imprisoned for up to six months, or both. The vehicle used may also be forfeited.

#PSA To improve your commuting experience, we will be starting refurbishment of older escalators in #NSEWL ❤️💚 and #NEL 💜🚇 stations.
These escalators come with improved features like dual speed, which allows the escalators to operate at different speeds during peak and non-peak hours. ⏲🔁
🛠️ Works are expected to start in 2026 and complete in 2032. During the refurbishment, we will put in place measures to minimise inconvenience to commuters, such as carrying out works in stages. 🙏

#PSA We’re happy to update that the integration of the Circle Line (#CCL) with our existing rail network will be completed more than a month ahead of schedule! Thanks to the early completion, train services on the CCL will resume normal operations from this Sat, 6 Apr 2024. 🥳
#DidYouKnow that these works were initially expected to conclude in May? Thanks to the collective efforts by our engineers and operator to streamline and optimise work processes based on site conditions, as well as the additional resources put in by our contractors to support 24/7 operations, we could complete the track works in 77 days instead of 126 as originally planned. 🛠️🗓️ This has allowed us to go back to business as usual and reduce the inconvenience to commuters. ⏰
A big #ThankYou to all commuters for your patience as we continue to work hard to improve everyone’s rail journeys. 🚇🧡
