We’ve just awarded the contract for the design and construction of tunnels between the Cross Island Line Phase 2 (#CRL2) Jurong Lake District station and West Coast station (working names) to Nishimatsu Construction Co. Ltd – Okumura Corporation Singapore Branch Joint Venture!

Both companies have a strong track record of undertaking tunnelling projects in Singapore and abroad. 💪🚧 Nishimatsu Construction Co. Ltd is currently constructing the bored tunnels between #CRL Tampines North station and Defu station and have previously completed tunnelling works for #CCL6 Keppel station and #TEL Gardens by the Bay station. 🚇 Okumura Corporation has worked on projects such as the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway and Taipei MRT Airport Line.

Works for these tunnels are expected to start in Q4 2024 and passenger service for CRL2 is slated to commence in 2032.

1️⃣ The civil contract for the design and construction of tunnels between the #CRL2 Maju (working name) and Clementi stations has been awarded to Sinohydro Corporation Limited (Singapore Branch). 🏗

2️⃣ A separate contract has been awarded to Siemens Mobility Pte Ltd and Concord Corporation Pte Ltd Consortium to deliver the power supply system for the #CRL.

Works for the tunnels are expected to start in Q4 2024 and passenger service for CRL2 is targeted to commence in 2032.

#GoodNews Punggol Coast station on the North East Line (#NEL) will open for passenger service on 10 Dec, 3pm! 🙌🥳

Located in the heart of #PunggolDigitalDistrict, Punggol Coast station will provide greater connectivity to the JTC Business Park and Singapore Institute of Technology (#SIT) campus, as well as the upcoming Punggol Coast Mall. 🏢

With the new station, over 200,000 households will be within a 10-min walk of a NEL station, and they can enjoy shorter travel time to the city centre and other parts of Singapore. For instance, journeys from Punggol North to Outram Park or Orchard will take 45mins on NEL as compared to 60mins today.

#DidYouKnow Punggol Coast station was fully designed by LTA’s in-house designers and managed by LTA in partnership with JTC. The station is also targeting to achieve BCA’s Green Mark Certification for its energy-efficient design and operations! 💡🌱

#GoodNews 🎉🚇🌟 3 new stations will connect the Downtown Line (#DTL) to the North-South Line (#NSL) by 2035!

DTL will be extended by 4km from Bukit Panjang MRT station to add a new station along Sungei Kadut Ave (DE1)🔵, and another new interchange station with NSL (DE2/NS6). NS6 will be a new station between Yew Tee and Kranji MRT stations 🔴.

This extension (#DTL2e) will enhance rail network resilience and connectivity in the northwest, offering:

🔄 Alternative transfer options
⏱️Shorter travel times
🏙️ Better connectivity to existing and new growth areas, amenities and recreational spaces.

🏗️ Construction is expected to start in 4Q2025.

#DidYouKnow JRL has a total of 6️⃣ viaducts crossing 2️⃣ expressways? Building them is no easy feat as very careful planning & coordination with various teams is required to ensure that works proceed safely & smoothly. This includes carrying them out at night to reduce traffic disruptions. 🚘🛣️

The last JRL viaduct crossing the PIE will be completed by Q2 2025. Thereafter, works for the viaducts crossing AYE will begin. 💪🏼
