We were alerted to several potholes 🕳️ along Tanah Merah Coast Road which was caused by the heavy rain since last Friday ☔.
Cracks form on the road surface as part of normal wear and tear and are typically repaired during regular inspection, maintenance, and road resurfacing works. During rainy weather, water seeps in 🌧️ and widens the cracks as vehicles go over them🚗. This is worsened by prolonged heavy rainfall 🌧️🌧️ that we experienced over the past few days.
The potholes have since been repaired on 12 January 2025.
If you spot road defects (e.g., potholes) , you can report them via the ‘Snap & Send’ function 📱 on the MyTransport.SG mobile application or the Municipal Services Office’s OneService application – https://go.gov.sg/reportpothole.

#Reminder Be gracious and keep to the correct paths to ensure safer journeys for all. 🚲🛴
#TakeNote ⚠️ Enforcement against those riding on these Pedestrian-Only Paths will commence from 1 July 2025.

⚠️Do not modify your Active Mobility Devices (AMDs) as they pose safety risks to yourself and others.
In April 2024, two fire incidents were linked to non-compliant Power-Assisted Bicycles (PABs) fitted with higher-capacity batteries.🔋 Investigations revealed that owners of both PABs had either purchased the PAB or an additional PAB battery from Drive Bikes Singapore.
Mr Prince Bryan Tan, Sales & Marketing Manager of Drive Bikes Singapore, will be charged in court tomorrow for:
1️⃣ Selling a non-compliant PAB under the Active Mobility Act 2017, and
2️⃣ Causing a PAB to be modified, rendering it non-compliant for use under the Traffic Act 1961.
We take these offences seriously. Remember to only purchase and use devices and parts (including batteries) from original manufacturers or official retailers. Non-compliant users may be fined up to $10,000, or face imprisonment up to 6 months, or both. 🚫

#GuardiansOfTheRoads continue to carry out enforcement operations at various locations across Singapore. Recently, 24 vehicles were caught with non-compliant modifications such as tinted films, decorative lamps, non-standard number plates and modified exhausts. Such modifications can distract other road users, compromise safety and violate noise and emission standards.
We remain committed to enforcing against these violations as part of our broader efforts to make roads safer for everyone.
For more information on vehicle modifications: https://go.gov.sg/n1qls9
