My book on ‘Prosecution of Core Crimes in Ethiopia: domestic practice vis-à-vis international standards’  has been published by Brill/Nijhoff and available in both hardcover and Ebook versions since last week 11 March 2021 https://brill.com/view/title/59502.

My book is on comparative analysis of the law and trials of core international crimes (crimes against humanity, genocide, and war crimes) perpetrated during and in the context of dictatorial regimes, post-election conflicts, transitional period, inter-ethnic conflicts, and civil wars.

It also contains a comprehensive analysis of transitional justice issues and international obligations applicable to responding to past human rights abuses.

ወይ አዳም‼️.........ወይ እኔ‼️
ስራህ ነው ፈራጁ
አንድ ሰው ነበረ እጅግ በጣም ትንሽ መሬት የነበረችው፡፡ ከመሬቷ ማነስና ከኑሮው መጉደል የተነሣ ሲቆፍር በምሬት "ወይ አዳም... ወይ አዳም... ወይ አዳም" ማለትን ያዘወትር ነበር፡፡ ይህን ደጋግሞ የሰማ አንድ ባለፀጋ ለምን እንዲህ እንደሚል ሲጠይቀው "ከተዋበ ገነት በገዛ ጥፋቱ ወጥቶ ለእኛ መከራ ያተረፈ አዳም ነው፡፡ የአምላኩን ትዕዛዝ ቢሰማ ኖሮ ይህ የኑሮ ችግር በእኔ ባልደረሰ ነበር" በማለት ገለፀለት፡፡ ባለፀጋውም እኔ ብዙ ሀብት ያለኝ ብሆንም ወራሽ የለኝምና እኔ ቤት ገብተህ ውረሰኝ አለውና ወደ ቤቱ ወስዶ ያለውን ሁሉ ወርቁን፣ ብሩን፣ ከብቱንና እህሉን፣ አንዲት ጠርሙስ ስትቀር አስረከበው፡፡ ይህች የእኔ ንብረት ናትና እንዳትነካብኝ በማለት ጠርሙሷን እንዲጠብቅለት አደራ አለው፡፡ ሰውዬውም ምን ይሆን በማለት ጉጉት አድሮበት ሳለ ያ ሰው ለጉዳዩ ከቤቱ ርቆ ሲሄድ ቶሎ ብሎ ይከፍትና ቢያያት ውስጧ ባዶ ሆኖ በማግኘቱ ተደንቆ መልሶ ዘግቶ እንደነበረች ይመልሳታል፡፡ ከመንገዱ የተመለሰው ባለፀጋውም "ንብረቴን ጠበክልኝ አልነካህም?" ሲለው በደንብ እንደጠበቀ ገለፀለት፡፡ ለካስ ይህ ባለጸጋ በሰጠው ንብረት ላይ ታማኝነቱን ይፈትነው ዘንድ ትንኝ አድርጎ ስለነበር ያ ሰው ጠርሙሱን በከፈተ ጊዜ እርሱ ሳያያት በርራ ሄዳለች፡፡ ባለጸጋውም "ዋሾ ነህ! አልታመንክም" በማለት ከሰጠው ንብረት አባረረው፡፡ ተመልሶ ወደ ቀደመው መሬቱ ሲመለስ "ወይ እኔ! ...ወይ እኔ! ...ወይ እኔ!" እያለ ወደ ቁፋሮው ተመለሰ፡፡

እውነት ነው፤ የምናስተውለው ነገር ነው፡፡ አብዛኛው ሰውዎች ዘንድ ደካማ ባህርያት አንዱ የራሱን ጥፋቶች (ስህተቶች) አለመቀበል ነው፤ የተወሰኑት ብርትዎች ደሞ ከዚህ በተቃራኒው ይቆማሉ "እኔ ምንድነው የተሳሳትኩት?" በማለት ራሳቸውን ይፈተሻሉ፤ መፍትሄ ፍለጋ ይኳትናሉ።
