Today, during the #work_orientation for interns, the president emphasized the importance of youth in shaping the #future_of_AFLEX_and_the_country.
The president announced that following the signing of a #Memorandum_of_Understanding (MoU) with the Mastercard Foundation, they are committed to hiring 10 graduate interns from various fields of study. He noted that this initiative marks the first phase of implementation stemming from our agreement.
The president reminded the interns that they represent the results of the institution’s #reform and #transformation_plan, showcasing the organization’s commitment to unlocking the potential of international organizations.
The discussion aimed to #Foster_collaboration among impressive leaders in the field and facilitate connections with #U.S. embassy counterparts who share a keen interest in advanced leadership programs.
Mr. Zadig highlighted the Academy’s key initiatives, including the ambitious #Reform #Scaling_Up and #Transformation Plan, set to be implemented over the next three years. This strategic initiative is designed to enhance the Academy's role in shaping effective leaders capable of driving positive change in their communities and beyond.
During the discussion, the President elaborated on the Academy’s #four_flagship_leadership_development_programs: the Executive Leadership development Program, the Public Leadership development Program, the Women Leadership development Program, and the Emerging Leadership development Program.
He also detailed the Academy’s offerings of #38_specialized_leadership_development_programs, which cater to various demographics and leadership aspirations.
Emphasizing the Academy’s comprehensive and functional #leadership_developmen_ ecosystem, the President cited successful partnerships with renowned institutions, including the Maxwell School at Syracuse University and Yale University, which have contributed to enhancing the curriculum and impact of the Academy’s leadership programs.
The strategic positioning of Ethiopia and Africa in the context of global leadership development was also a focal point, with the President articulating the potential for transformative growth in these regions.
In a significant development, the President announced the upcoming launch of four new master’s programs, set to broaden the Academy’s educational offerings and further establish its role as a leading institution for leadership excellence.
Participants expressed admiration for the Academy’s vision and journey, highlighting their eagerness to collaborate on future initiatives. The meeting concluded with a commitment to explore joint projects that would advance leadership training and development on an international scale.
The Academy looks forward to forging strong partnerships with U.S. universities and embassy representatives, further solidifying its position as a hub for leadership development in Ethiopia and across Africa.
