We’ve just awarded two civil contracts to construct four stations on the Jurong Region Line (#JRL)! 🎊
🚧 Works under both contracts are expected to start in the second quarter of 2021.
🚇 When completed by 2029, the new stations will improve connectivity in the western part of Singapore by serving areas that do not currently have direct links to the rail network! 🗓️

1️⃣ The contract for the design and construction of the final station along JRL (JW5 station located in NTU) and its associated viaducts has been awarded to Hwa Seng Builder Pte Ltd. An experienced local builder, they’re currently constructing two other JRL stations – JW3 and JW4 – which are also located within NTU. 🚧 Construction works for JW5 station is expected to start in 3Q 2022 and complete in 2029. With the award of this contract, all civil works contracts for JRL have been awarded. 👏
2️⃣ The second contract is to provide the JRL’s power supply system ⚡️ and it has been awarded to Siemens Mobility Pte Ltd / Concord Corporation Pte Ltd Consortium. They have strong track record in this area, having completed the power supply system on the #DTL and they are working on the power supply system on #CCL6 and #NELe as well.

⏰ 11pm to 5.30am

📅 2 Mar 2024 to end-2024, on selected nights*
⏰12.30am to 5.30am
🚍 Some bus services will need to be diverted because of the work schedules. However, existing accesses to carparks and developments will not be affected.

Do look out for road signs in the vicinity regarding these closures and the alternative routes you can take. Remember to plan your journeys in advance too. 📱

#GoodNews Westies! We’ve just awarded the contract to operate the Jurong Region Line (#JRL) to the joint venture between SBS Transit Rail and RATP Dev Asia Pacific, a subsidiary of the French public transport operator, RATP Dev.
SBST Transit Rail and RATP Dev Asia Pacific will operate the line for 9 years, with an option to extend another 2 years. During this time, they have committed to use the experience of RATP Dev to build local capabilities in rail operations and maintenance.
JRL, our 7th MRT line, will open in phases from 2027. It’ll enhance connectivity in western Singapore, including NTU, Jurong Industrial Estate, and Jurong Innovation District.
The operator for CRL will be selected at a later stage.

While you were sleeping, we completed the third Jurong Region Line (#JRL) viaduct crossing an expressway! 🏗️🚝
#DidYouKnow JRL has a total of 6️⃣ viaducts crossing 2️⃣ expressways? Building them is no easy feat as very careful planning & coordination with various teams is required to ensure that works proceed safely & smoothly. This includes carrying them out at night to reduce traffic disruptions. 🚘🛣️
The last JRL viaduct crossing the PIE will be completed by Q2 2025. Thereafter, works for the viaducts crossing AYE will begin. 💪🏼
