#PSA In line with our vision for 100% cleaner vehicles by 2040, we will continue to support this transition from 1 Jan to 31 Dec 2025 by:

1️⃣ Maintaining the #EV Early Adoption Incentive (#EEAI);

2️⃣ Extending the $0 Additional Registration Fee (#ARF) floor for electric cars and taxis till 31 Dec 2025; and

3️⃣ Adjusting the rebate for cars under NEA’s Vehicular Emissions Scheme (#VES).

With these rebates, buyers will continue to enjoy combined cost savings of up to $40,000 off the ARF for electric cars. 🚗⚡️🌱

#PSA 🚨 Normal train services will not be available between Boon Lay and Queenstown MRT stations for the rest of the day.

🗺️ Plan ahead for your journeys as travel delays are expected. Please note the following:

There will be no train services between Jurong East and Buona Vista stations.

🚆 SMRT will be running shuttle trains between Boon Lay and Jurong East stations, and between Buona Vista and Queenstown stations to facilitate your journeys.

🚍 Free regular and bridging bus services are also available at designated bus stops outside the affected stations.

➡️ Check out this visual for more info on the alternate travel options for commuters.

Thank you for your understanding. 🙏🏼
#PSA We are aware of the lengthy queues for buses at Buona Vista, as commuters transfer from an interchange station to the bridging bus services.

To address this issue, we have deployed more buses to cater to the demand. We kindly urge commuters to remain patient and maintain orderliness while waiting for the buses.

Thank you for your understanding. 🙏
#PSA 🚨 No train service between Jurong East and Buona Vista stations tomorrow, 26 Sept 2024.

As there was extensive damage to the tracks, more time is required to do the necessary repairs and replacements. We will also check all first-generation Kawasaki Heavy Industries trains overnight, before they are put into service.

LTA and SMRT engineers have worked tirelessly through the night to address the extensive damage discovered on the tracks and trackside equipment.

Investigations revealed that a defective axle box on a train had dropped, causing one bogie to come off the running rail between Dover and Clementi stations. Additionally, 34 rail breaks were identified along a 1.6-kilometer stretch of track between these stations. The incident also resulted in damage to 3 point machines, which are used for diverting trains onto different tracks, as well as the third rail that supplies power, and several power cables and rail clips.
SMRT engineers and technicians are currently working to repair and replace the damaged track and equipment, with efforts still ongoing. In the meantime, all Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) trains put into service today have undergone and passed comprehensive axle box functionality checks to ensure safe operations.

To ensure commuters can continue with their journeys, SMRT is operating shuttle train services between Buona Vista and Queenstown stations, as well as between Jurong East and Boon Lay stations. 80 double-deck buses have also been deployed for free bus bridging services between Buona Vista and Jurong East in both directions.
We are still unable to resume train services between Jurong East and Buona Vista stations in both directions today.

We are aiming for a partial restoration of train services on Friday, 27 September, with a single line shuttle service running every 20 minutes between Jurong East and Buona Vista stations.

Restoring train services safely and promptly is our top priority, and we will continue to provide updates as the situation progresses.
#PSA 🚨 There will be no rail service between Jurong East and Buona Vista stations tomorrow, 27 Sep.

We explored running a shuttle service between these stations to restore partial service. However, as this would slow down track repairs, we will prioritise repairing and restoring full service earlier.

SMRT is aiming to resume normal operations on Monday, 30 Sept 2024.

➡️ Check out this visual for more info on the travel options available during this period.

Thank you for your understanding. 🙏🏼
