#GoodNews We’re steadily expanding our EV charging infrastructure to sustain the momentum of our transition to cleaner energy vehicles! 💪⚡️🚗
#DidYouKnow There are around 13,800 registered EV charging points islandwide today. About half of HDB carparks have been equipped with EV chargers and we’re on track to deploy charging points at all HDB carparks by end 2025! 🙌🥳
We have also co-funded more than 1,200 chargers in non-landed private residences (NLPRs) under the EV Common Charger Grant (#ECCG). By end 2024, we estimate that around one in five of all NLPRs in Singapore will be equipped with EV charging points! 🏢✨
In response to industry feedback and to facilitate innovation and upskilling for the sector, we will waive the registration fees for chargers used for educational and R&D purposes. This is targeted to take effect by Q4 2024.

#HappeningNow Travelling to/from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station today?
You may be asked to go through security screening as part of #ExerciseStationGuard. This exercise is conducted regularly to validate our security measures at public transport nodes and help familiarise commuters on how they should respond if there’s an emergency on our public transport network.
Do factor in additional travel time for the screening and avoid bringing bulky items.

Since last week, we have conducted enforcement operations with the National Environment Agency around Tuas Link 2 and found vehicles parked illegally.
During the joint enforcement, 25 tour buses and coaches were booked for illegal parking offences. We take a serious view of these traffic violations and will continue to enforce against those who do not comply with regulations.
Members of public can report illegal parking and other traffic violations and disamenities (e.g. littering) on the LifeSG or OneService applications and through the OneMotoring portal.

Yesterday, we caught four drivers and impounded their Malaysian-registered vehicles for providing illegal cross-border chauffeured services between Singapore and Malaysia.
#PSA We take these offences very seriously and will not condone drivers providing such illegal services. For your safety, do avoid using these services as they are not only illegal, but may also lack adequate insurance coverage which poses a serious risk for passengers, should an accident occur.
#Reminder Drivers caught providing illegal hire-and-reward services, including cross-border trips without a valid Public Service Vehicle Licence (#PSVL), can be fined up to $3,000, imprisoned for up to six months, or both. Additionally, vehicles involved may also be forfeited.

#PSA 🚧 From 18 Aug, 5am, the cross junction between Ang Mo Kio Avenues 5 and 6 will be temporarily converted to a signalised roundabout to facilitate the construction of the North-South Corridor (#NSC). This will create sufficient space for the works to proceed safely.
Motorists and commuters are advised to plan their journey ahead and follow road signage and markings along the affected roads. Thank you for your understanding. 🙏🏽👷🏽

Over the past month, our #ActiveMobility enforcement officers (#AMEOs) conducted a series of operations against errant Active Mobility (AM) users at locations such as Bedok, Robinson Road, Sengkang, Tampines and Woodlands. We also conducted joint operations with the Singapore Police Force to enforce against large groups cycling on roads.
A total of 77 offences were detected during these operations, such as riding of non-compliant devices, using devices on the wrong paths, and keeping non-compliant power-assisted bicycles.
For the safety of all path and road users, AM users should comply with all requirements on go.gov.sg/amrules

🚴♂️ As cycling gains more popularity for commuting and leisure, and our population ages, we aim to create safer paths for everyone.
🚲 We are continuing our efforts to expand our cycling network to 1,300km by 2030, with the latest addition being the 7.7km Bishan cycling network.
🚶🏻♀️🚶To further enhance safety, we’ll now designate footpaths adjacent to dedicated cycling paths as Pedestrian-only Paths. This would apply to over 200km of footpaths islandwide. Bicycles and non-motorised personal mobility devices will not be allowed on these Pedestrian-only paths. We’ll give a grace period for the transition before we start enforcement from 1 July 2025. Pedestrians should also keep to the Pedestrian-Only Paths for their safety.
We hope this will reduce conflicts between different path users, and ensure safer commutes for all. ☀️
