#PSA 📢 #DoYouKnow that you can enjoy greater cost savings when you commute using stored value cards or #SimplyGo i.e. contactless bank cards and mobile wallets?

For instance, a 3.2km trip costs $0.92 with these options as compared to $1.70 when using a standard ticket. 💵

With the availability of these cost savings and convenient options, the usage of standard tickets has declined significantly over the years. 🎟️ Hence, we will be phasing out standard tickets in stages between January and March 2022. 🗓️

With the impending increase in permissible group size for social gatherings, we will similarly increase the passenger limit for taxis and private hire cars from 2 to 5 and allow carpooling services to resume from 10 Aug 2021. 🚕🚗

Lower speed limits at more Silver Zone

To make roads safer for our seniors, we lowered the speed limit at two Silver Zone locations - Bukit Merah View and Jurong West Street 52 – from 40km/h to 30km/h as part of a trial in 2020. During the trial, we observed that motorists generally slowed down and traffic flow remained smooth.

🚗 Encouraged by the results, the speed limit of 30km/h will apply permanently to both Silver Zones. We will also be progressively extending the lower speed limit to seven more locations from later this year, including Commonwealth Drive and the upcoming Potong Pasir Silver Zone.

🤝 #RoadSafety We hope everyone can continue do their part to make our roads safer. For motorists, do slow down when driving through a Silver Zone and watch out for more vulnerable road users. 👵👦
