Hello, Twizell here, your guide to the Twizell Maze.

I am happy to announce that we will be bringing back the Wild North Trading Post for this year!

Dealers, artists, crafters, and sellers come to sell their wares. If you are interested in being a trader, please give us an email at: events@wildnorth.uk

Looking forward to seeing your wares!
Hey Flufftails,

I want to announce that the charity we support this year is Little Paws Ferret Rescue, a ferret rescue organization based in the North East.

Specialising in ferrets, Little Paws Ferret Rescue takes in approximately 100-150 unwanted, abandoned, neglected and mistreated animals every year to rehabilitate and rehome each one and aim to improve the lives of domesticated ferrets and educate owners to provide better care and housing.

Donations will be welcome over the weekend, and a couple of charity representatives will join us for a Meet the Charity event to let you know more about their work and give you a chance to meet some of the critters they work with.

If you wish to know more, here’s a link to their website: https://www.littlepawsferretrescue.co.uk/

Looking forward to seeing you all at Wild North, and here’s hoping we can raise a considerable sum together to help these guys out!

Hello! Respectful Twizell here, the lover of lost dogs and wild causes.

I'm here to let you know there are 23 places remaining. If you want to come for a four day weekend at Featherstone Castle, I suggest you register sooner rather than later.

Remember, you do not have to pay straight away. Once you've completed your registration at the link below, you'll have 28 days to make payment or your registration will be deleted.

With that in mind, there are a few of you who registered earlier in April who have yet to pay. Be sure to check your registration to make sure you have paid to avoid deletion, or get in touch with us as soon as possible if there are any issues.

Hello! Temerarious Twizell here, aka the fire squirrel, here to let you know one of the events we have in store for you at the Twizell Maze.

Do you like swords? Do you like medieval combat? Well, back by popular demand, @Longswordfencer will be hosting swordplay classes during Wild North.

For those unaware, this skilled dragon has over 20 years of experience and is certified by the British Combat Association. This time he'll be planning two longsword, two saber, and two staff workshops (max six people each), as well as some outdoor sparring practice and a mini-tournament for those who attend the workshops!

So, if you want to learn some fancy swordplay, be on the lookout during the convention to show us what you are made of!

Signups will be announced in July (when the event schedule goes online!) but if you want to learn more about what our dragon instructor Sascha does, you can find out below.

Attention artists and writers!

We're still looking for artwork and stories to publish in this year's conbook. It could be anything if it fits the requirement and our theme.

Perhaps a drawing of a furry friend doing an obstacle task in the Aztec zone, or a short story of Twizell and friends going through the Medieval zone, figuring out a high-tech puzzle in the Futuristic Zone, or some mystery task in the Industrial zone!

If you need a reminder of the requirements and where to send them, feel free to look at the prior announcement below:

Do let us know if you have any questions.
Volunteers Wanted

Hello, the Terrific Twizell here. As you know, this convention is only possible thanks to the support of gracious volunteers, and that's where you come in.

Here are the different volunteer roles on offer:

Kitchen
At Wild North, we provide catering, so we need paws in the kitchen to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also need paws to help clean dishes and utensils afterwards if you prefer.

Events
Whether assisting in indoor or outdoor events or running your event.

Musicians
Can you play an instrument? Or can you sing a good tune? We have music events and are open to talented contributors.

First Aiders
We're seeking qualified first aiders (minimum Emergency First Aid at Work) to assist our attendees.

General
Of course, there are other ways you can help us out, whether it is moving equipment or setting things up.

If you are up for volunteering for any of these areas, message us at events@wildnorth.uk, mention volunteering in the subject header, and let us know what areas you'd like to be involved in.
Want to draw something for us? How about writing a short story or poem for the conbook?

Let us know before June 30th, and we'll look forward to seeing what you'll bring to Wild North.

Submit your work now! events@wildnorth.uk

Train Tickets
Advance train tickets are on sale for various destinations for September. However, Northern (the train company serving Haltwhistle, our nearest station) appears to be releasing Advance tickets about eight weeks ahead.

So, you may wish to book your trains around early August. Though if you find a good deal earlier, go for it! Don't forget to buy or use a railcard if you are eligible to buy your tickets for a discount.

https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/tickets/advance

P.S. If you’re joining us for the Beamish Open Air Museum trip after the con, please note that Chester-le-Street and Durham are the nearest stations.
Greetings everyone! We are proud to reveal our official T-shirt design! Courtesy of our resident artist @Mikuplantman!

Attendees, if you wish to get this year's shirt and you haven’t ordered one yet: log back into the reg system, set your size, and make the payment.

You have to order until the date reg closes (Saturday, 26 August).
EDIT: This announcement is out of date. A small number of places are open until Saturday 26 August, or until they're taken.

Full House!
As of today (Tuesday, 11 July), we have reached our maximum number of registrations. Thank you all so much for your support!

However!
If you're still interested in joining us, you can still register if you like. You'll then go onto a waiting list. If places become available, they will be offered to people on the list in their registered order. So please continue to register.

If you have registered and still need to pay, as a reminder, you have 28 days after your reg date until Saturday 26 August to pay. After this point, your reg will be closed, your details will be deleted, and your place will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

If, unfortunately, you can no longer join us, please tell us by email: events@wildnorth.uk. This will free up space for someone on the list.

We can only accept cancellations via email. Social media and chat messages may not be picked up. Please take a look at our cancellation policy for more information, and remember you can also transfer your reg to someone else.

Hello Flufftails!

We still have trading spaces free at the Trading Post, Wild North’s version of the Dealers Den!

If you are an artist, a crafter or even a dragon who would like to de-clutter their plushy hoard or their extensive pin collection, we have FREE spots for you to set up shop in the Gun Room. You don't need to pay a penny to sell your wares, just let us know you would like to trade and bring your things/sketchpad! Don’t worry if you are not able stay and trade for the whole 4 hours, we are happy to have you join us for as much as you feel comfortable with.

If you are interested in trading, please let us know either at events@wildnorth.uk or @WildNorthComms. Applications open until the end of August or while spaces are available

For everyone who plans to travel by train...

Advance train tickets are now on sale right through to Haltwhistle. You may wish to buy your train tickets soon if you haven’t yet bought them.

If you’re joining us for the Beamish after-con trip, please note that Chester-le-Street and Durham are the nearest stations.

Oh, and remember your Railcards!
Did you know you can add a fursona picture onto your conbadge? Go to your registration page and click the Twizell icon next to your name.

While you're on your registration, please take a moment to check that your details are current. This includes your approximate arrival and departure times if you know them. This will help us plan for travel and transport.

These can be found by going to Registration Info, then Gimmicks.

If you're unsure of your arrival/departure times, don't worry. You will have until early September to update your details.
Evening Flufftails, Twizell here, giving you a snippet of what is in store for the Twizell Maze!

First, we will be bringing back the night of Fur'e'oke! Be sure to get your vocal cords ready to sing some tunes!

We have provided a song sheet if you want to see what songs will be available: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10Jk5tNTv3E_Xln7Al6vaiQyvEjcdk4Ks/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=100887034485147574102&rtpof=true&sd=true

Do you need help finding a song you'd like to sing on the night? Do not fret! You can contact @Greskilvulf, give him the song/artist, and he can do his best to find what you're looking for and add it to the list in time for Wild North!
The Wild North Kubb Tournament is back once again!

For those unfamiliar with Kubb, it’s an old Viking lawn game of knocking down your opponent's towers before finishing the king. (Here's a link with a quick rule overview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtqVqrcVgVY )

This is a team event, and we're asking interested people to sign up ahead of the con.

We need at least four teams of three players, and yes, fursuiters can play and are actively encouraged! (Though we do have a limit of one suiter per team.)

So gather your raiding party, pillage your enemies' towers and topple the king!

You can email us at events@wildnorth.uk or send a message to @WildNorthComms with team sign-ups, and we'll get you on the roster. We look forward to some exciting team names!

Let’s see your battle skills!
We currently have a place available. If you know someone who’s missed out so far, please let them know!
