भारत और बांग्लादेश का संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास संप्रीति VIII, 14 मार्च, 2019 को तंगेल, बांग्लादेश में संपन्न हुआ। भारत-बांग्लादेश सयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास में भारतीय सेना की ओर से राजपूताना राइफल्स की 9वीं बटालियन का कंपनी ग्रुप तथा 36 ईस्ट बंगाल बटालियन बांग्लादेश की कंपनी ने भाग लिया। समापन समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि भारतीय उच्चायुक्त महामहिम श्रीमती रीवा गांगुली दास ने दोनों देशों के बीच विशेष संबंधों पर प्रकाश डाला।

New policy for highway projects
The government has unveiled a policy for resolving stalled highway projects worth nearly Rs 30,000 crore, including those where proceedings have been initiated against the companies before the bankruptcy tribunal. The move is aimed at unlocking money of both lenders and private players, including crisis-hit IL&FS, which is caught in about 28-30 projects as work has come to a standstill due to shortage of funds. According to a road transport ministry circular issued on March 9, agencies such as NHAI can foreclose the contract by signing a supplementary agreement. It said the authority will a make full and final payment to the private player for the “value of work done” or 90% of the debt due, whichever is lower.

The NITI Aayog and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized the first workshop on development of the India Energy Modelling Forum (IEMF), which has been envisaged as a pan-stakeholder platform for debating ideas, scenario-planning & discussing the India's energy future. The two-day workshop, being held with the support of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), was organized under the Sustainable Growth Pillar of the India-U.S. Strategic Energy Partnership. भारत-चीन की बॉर्डर पर्सनल मीटिंग पूर्वी लद्दाख में हुई। इस दौरान भारतीय और चीनी सेना के अधिकारियों ने वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा पर शांति बनाए रखने की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई। भारतीय और चीन के ध्वज को सलामी देने के साथ शुरू हुई बैठक में सीमा पर सौहार्द बनाए रखने के लिए संबंधों को और बेहतर बनाने पर जोर दिया गया। दोनों देशों के सैन्य अधिकारियों ने विश्वास दिलाया कि वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा पर शांति बनाए रखने के लिए एक-दूसरे को पूरा सहयोग दिया जाएगा।

The European Union, China, and Thailand have expressed interest to join consultations in a case filed by Japan at the WTO against India’s import duties on certain information and communication technology products, including mobile phones. Singapore, Canada and Chinese Taipei too have earlier sought to join this dispute consultation against India under the WTO’s dispute settlement body.

CDAC develops instrument to trace direction of gunfire
A team of researchers at the Centre for Development for Advanced Computing (CDAC) is developing an advanced instrument capable of tracking the precise direction of gunfire. While a pilot model of the Acoustic Gunshot Detector was developed and handed to city-based Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), a lab of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in 2015, its advanced model with larger geographical range is currently under development.

Pakistan successfully tests ballistic missile
Pakistan 24 May 2019 successfully test-fired surface-to-surface ballistic missile Shaheen-II, capable of hitting targets as far as 1,500 kilometers away, bringing major Indian cities under its range. The Pakistan Army said in a statement that the launch was aimed at ensuring operational readiness of the Army Strategic Forces Command.

The second Lunar orbit manoeuvre for Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft was successfully completed on 21 August 2019, said India Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
According to ISRO, the orbit manoeuvre began at 12.50 p.m. and took 1,228 seconds to complete. The orbit achieved is 118 km X 4,412 km. All spacecraft parameters are normal.
