A lion was asleep in the sun one day. A little mouse came out to play. The little mouse ran up the lion’s neck and slid down his back. The lion caught him with a great big smack!
روزی شیری زیر آفتاب خوابیده بود. موش کوچولویی بیرون آمد تا بازی کند. موش کوچولو از گردن شیر بالا رفت و از کمرش سُر خورد. شیر با ضربه‌ی محکمی او را گرفت.

“I’m going to eat you!” the lion roared, his mouth open wide.
شیر غرید و با دهان گشادش گفت: «می‌خواهم تو را بخورم!»

“No, no, please don’t!” the little mouse cried. “Be kind to me, and one day I’ll help you.”
موش کوچولو با ناله گفت: «نه، نه لطفاً منو نخور! به من رحم کن. روزی به تو کمک خواهم کرد.»

“I’m a lion! You’re a mouse! What can you do?” The lion laughed, very hard, and the mouse ran away.
شیر با صدای بلند خنده‌ای کرد و گفت: «من یک شیرم! و تو تنها یک موشی! تو چه کمکی می‌توانی به من بکنی؟» و موش از آنجا فرار کرد.

But the mouse was out walking the very next day. He heard a big roar, and squeaked when he saw the king of the jungle tied to a tree. But the mouse had a plan to set him free. The mouse worked quickly, and chewed through the rope.
فردای آن روز موش کوچولو مشغول قدم زدن در آنجا بود که صدای غرش بلندی را شنید و جیغ کشید. او دید که سلطان جنگل را به یک درخت طناب‌پیچ کرده‌اند. اما موش کوچولو نقشه‌ای برای آزاد کردن او کشید. موش به‌سرعت دست‌به‌کار شد و طناب‌ها را جوید.

قبل از اینکه مردم را کاملاً بشناسی در موردشان قضاوت نکن

A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train's window shouted ..., "Dad, look the trees are going behind!" Dad smiled and a couple sitting nearby looked at the 24 year old's childish behavior with pity. Suddenly he exclaimed again, "Dad, look. the clouds are running with us!"

یک پسر 24 ساله داشت از پنجره قطار به بیرون نگاه می کرد. ناگهان فریاد زد "پدر درخت ها دارند به پشت ما می روند." زوجی که در نزدیکی آنها بودند با حقارت به رفتار پسر 24 ساله نگاه می کردند. ناگهان آن پسر دوباره فریاد زد "پدر نگاه کن، ابرها با ما می دوند!"

The couple could not resist and said to the old man, "Why don't you take your son to a good doctor?"

این زوج که دیگر طاقتشان تمام شده بود به پیرمرد گفتند: "چرا پسرت را نزد پزشکی خوب نمی بری؟"

The old man smiled and said, "I did and we are just coming from the hospital. My son was blind from birth. He has just gchten his sight today."

It was nearly Christmas. Katie woke up and found that the world was white and magical.
تقریباً کریسمس شده بود. کتی از خواب بیدار شد و دید که همه‌جا سفید و جادویی شده.

“Snow!” she shouted, “Snow for Christmas!”
او داد زد: برف اومده! برفِ کریسمس!

She ran outside and danced in the snow.
بیرون دوید و روی برف‌ها رقص و پای‌کوبی کرد.

Her brother Eddie came out too. They made a big round snowball and a small one. They put them together and made a huge snowman.
برادرش اِدی هم بیرون آمد. آن‌ها یک گلوله برفی بزرگ و یک گلوله‌ی کوچک‌تر درست کردند. آن‌ها را روی هم گذاشتند و یک آدم‌برفی بزرگ درست کردند.

“Hello.” he said. “It’s Christmas. Would you like a present?”

“Yes please!” they said.

Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant, and he got it. His salary was really good and so were the working conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.His boss gave him an Axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to fell the trees.
روزگاران قدیم،چوب بر نیرومندی بود نزد یک تاجر چوب تقاضای کارکرد و استخدام شد.دستمزدش خیلی خوب بود و بنابراین شرایط کاری خوبی داشت.به همان دلیل،چوب بر اراده داشت به بهترین نحو،کارش را انجام دهد. اربابش به او تبری ای داد و محدوده ای که باید درختان را قطع میکرد، به او نشان داد
.
The first day, the woodcutter brought fifteen (15) trees. “Congratulations,” the boss said, “Carry on with your work!”Highly motivated by the words of his boss, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he only could bring ten (10) trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he was only able to bring seven (7) trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.
روز اول ،چوب بر پانزده درخت آورد.ارباب گفت:”تبریک میگویم،به کارت ادامه بده“
چوب بر که از حرف اربابش حسابی تشویق شده بود،روز بعد تلاش بیشتری کرد،اما توانست فقط ده درخت بیاورد.روز سوم،او بیشتر تلاش کرد اما توانست فقط هفت درخت بیاورد.یک روز پس از روز دیگر،او کمتر و کمتر درخت آورد

“I must be losing my strength.” The woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.
“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” The boss asked.
“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”
چوب بر فکر کرد:”من حتما قدرتم را از دست داده ام”.او نزد ارباب رفت و با گفتن اینکه او نمی تواند بفهمد چه اتفاقی افتاده بود،عذر خواهی کرد
ارباب پرسید:”آخرین باری که تبرت را تیز کردی،چه موقع بود؟
“تیز؟من وقتی برای تیز کردن تبرم نداشتم.من سخت مشغول قطع کردن درختان بودم
.
Moral: Most of us never update our skills. We think that whatever we have learned is very much enough. But good is not good when better is expected. Sharpening our skills from time to time is the key to success.
نکته اخلاقی:بیشتر ما توانایی مان را به روز نمی کنیم.فکر میکنیم آنچه یاد گرفتیم بسیار کافی است.اما خوب، وقتی بهتر انتظار می رود،خوب نیست.تیز کردن لحظه به لحظه مهارتهایمان، کلید موفقیت ماست
