When he helped her get that and she's still unsatisfied
When she wanted God in her way, but not when he offered to break up
When she read the text and knew she's gonna have to go with that
When she read the text and knew she has no reason to go against that
When he won and chose his way while she thought she would be the one to bring him back
It hurts.

Here's a beautiful poem for the new year that I really liked and it's written by a lovely friend of mine. 🌷

አብረውኝ ነበሩ

ምህረቱ እቅፍ አርጋኝ ሰላምን አግኝቼ
ብርሀን እየመራ ተከፍተው ዐይኖቼ
ሕጉ ልባብ ሆኖ ጎዳና አበጅቶ
የበጎነት ፀዳል በላዬ ላይ በርቶ፥
ቸርነት ሸኘቺኝ ጥበቃ አረጋግጦ
ሀይል እያበረታኝ ድካሜን ለውጦ
ፍርሀትን መልሳ እምነት በሩን ዘግታ
ክንዱን ተደግፌ ቆምኩኝ በከፍታ።
ማዳንና ደስታ አብረውኝ ተጉዘው
አለቀ ይህ ዓመት መንገዶቼ ቀንተው።
ህይወቷን አካፍላ ፍቅር ተሸክማ
ነገዬም ብሩህ ነው አይኖርም ጨለማ።
በፀጋ አልፈዋለው ሲረዳኝ ስላየሁ
ለመጪውም ዓመት እርሱን አምነዋለሁ።

A close friend wrote this poem about me and it was the most overwhelming thing for me. 🥺🥰

"Do you feel it or am I the only one?
To notice them is no longer fun...
The urge to text you random things
hear your voice like my church hymns
The urge to hug you when you're not around
Feel your embrace like the sun beyond the cloud
Do you feel it? ....
To see and observe the mundane
To be part of your routine and the plain
Or am I the only one?
Who wants you very very near
Hear you call me "my dear"
Am I the only one?...
That relive your hugs so as to remember your smell
The scent unique, clean and musculine
Tell me do you feel it?...
Have the courage to admit
I hope they fade away slowly
From my mind they would flee
