One day the Lord Jesus will come back to take His people to heaven. Then we shall see Jesus Christ as He really is. When we see Him, we shall change and be like Him. But nobody can ever be equal to Him. We will not become God as He is. But we will be similar to Him in character. We will live with God the Father and with the Lord Jesus. We will never die. We will be clean from sin and there will be no more sin. As Jesus is holy, so He will make us holy.

Christ didn’t only speak of His love. Infact He demonstrated His love more by doing than by speaking. Loving "in truth" means that love should be sincere and authentic, rooted in genuine concern for others, rather than being motivated by selfish desires or appearances.

Here, the apostle John acknowledges that sometimes our hearts might condemn us — perhaps we feel guilty, unworthy, or anxious about our standing before God. However, John reminds us that "God is greater than our hearts." Even when we feel overwhelmed by self-doubt, God's knowledge and love surpass our feelings. He knows everything about us, and His grace can overcome our self-condemnation.

Don't speak to yourself as an orphan

Our identity is a child of God but sometimes when we fall in sin or when we're distant from God we treat ourselves as an orphan (like God seems so distant that He won't forgive us or that it's too late to come back)

We have to think about how we got that authority to be a child of God. It's not on our best days that God chose us. And we haven't lost it in our worst days.

As a Christian it is necessary that you don't have blind faith on God. Merely defending the word or the gospel without you understanding it. So you should be very honest to yourself and God and list out questions you don't understand or believe about God. (don't worry He can handle your doubts and accusations)

Remember you're a child of God and as a child who asks thousands of questions (silly or not) you should also be like that with God. That's the only way you grow, mature and come to understand God.

So just write out all your questions and doubts, then Bible study, explore, talk to people, read commentaries, read books about the topic, pray about it, and one by one cross off your questions from your list. Trust me you'll be so proud of the person you'll become and the impact it will have in your life.

You absolutely NEED to believe that the world will pass away and will perish.

You NEED to believe this, it's necessary. It should be the core of your world view. Everything of the world, especially it's system, will perish and fade away.

"ዓለምና ምኞቱ ያልፋሉ፤ የእግዚአብሔርን ፈቃድ የሚፈጽም ግን ለዘላለም ይኖራል።"

What does overcoming the world mean?

The world is a physical place where our physical being finds pleasures for itself. The world is filled with the pleasures of the body, the pleasures of our senses and filled with things to be prideful about.

To overcome means to successfully deal with or defeat a problem, obstacle or challenge.

So put together, one of the major ways for a Christian to defeat the world means to successfully deal with and defeat the flesh.

A person who is struggling to kill the flesh, so that the spirit in him is the major decision maker, is the person overcoming the world.

Simply said in different terms, a person who's conquering the world is the person who's being obedient to God. Since God's commandments are against the world's and against the flesh's system of pride and lust obeying these commandments empowers us to overcome the world.

What are God's commandments? Simply put God wants His believers to love Him and to love each other. So living in love is obeying God's commandments and living in love is overcoming the world.

Live in love so that you defeat your flesh and the world!

I love how 1st John ends with this verse:
“ልጆች ሆይ፤ ራሳችሁን ከጣዖቶች ጠብቁ።” — 1 ዮሐንስ 5:21

Anything that takes the place of God is a false god. A lot of things would tempt us away from the real God but we need to be careful that we remain in the Lord.

There's this prayer you can pray and it's to ask God to reveal things about yourself. And to make you more honest.

I dare you! I did that recently and the past few weeks have been spiritually hectic. I am NOT who I thought I was there's so much about myself I considered honest but were not.

One of the things is seeing how much I need to love God more. Cause listening to Aster made me realize I am no where near that kind of love for God.

Very recent thing I've learnt:

For a romantic relationship to sustain itself. Both of the people involved must love eachother. The moment one stops loving the other, it starts collapsing and it's only a matter of time till they both stop loving eachother. Because for most people, romantic relationships give and take love.

It's not like this with God. Infact for a long while you won't love God much. Cause love to Him is obedience and we rarely obey.

Now this is pretty profound because you don't have to fear anymore. You don't love God now? So what. The relationship still remains. Now u can quit being afraid of losing the relationship and focus on actually growing into loving Him.

And He knows this. Infact when He saved you, He knew you were not gonna love Him back for a long while but still decided to stay and nurture you.

It's very freeing. You can feel whatever, but His love remains. Very faithful love.

One incredible advice a friend once told me about sin that people do regularly: when you planned to stop, the devil tells you that there's no point in trying to do that because you both know that you'll fail back down again.

And that is a lie and that's a lie because the devil doesn't know the future and you have the power of the Holy Spirit to help you overcome it. You are not guaranteed to fall for the same sin you've been doing for decades.

So whenever you get these thoughts understand that it's a lie, and even if you did fail back down again you chose to do it and so you should get back up again and try another round, as many as it takes to choose not to do it again.

As a Christian when we fall in sin we think of the worst punishments and curses from God.

Tho fearing God is wisdom, you have to realize that እግዚአብሄር ጉልበቱን የሚያሳየው ልጆቹ ላይ አይደለም።

There's this quote that goes "ማንን ታሸንፋለክ ቢሉት ሚስቴን እና ልጆቼን አለ።" God is not like that. God doesn't express how much He can make a person suffer using His children, He doesn't show His destruction on His children.

Infact it's almost the opposite. God shows His mercy, love, how much He provides and protects, How gentle He is and so much more on his children.

All of this is to say that when you sin, go back to God. There's no reason for you to run away.

Here are some lessons and insights

1. People like video podcasts more than audio only and the views and impressions tell. And it makes sense, if you're on YouTube then you might as well watch a video.

2. Content momentum is a real thing. If you post an Amharic episode, make sure you post even more Amharic episodes. Cause the people that watched the one Amharic episode would want even more in the same language. If you mix languages it breaks the momentum and it won't be as efficient.

3. Shorts are amazing. You should keep uploading shorts. It adds to the watch hours which helps you get monetized fast. A ton of people watch shorts so it's great exposure and reach.

4. Divide your show into seasons or chapters. Producing a podcast show isn't easy, specially if you're aiming high quality and it'll get tiring too quickly. So group your guests and schedule them into seasons.

5. Schedule ahead of time and add gaps between seasons. This will let you finish production earlier and gives you and your team time to rest while your viewers are enjoying content.

6. Have a clear and specific workflow for each team member. This makes working together easier and allows for improvements in the workflows.

Here's a thing: when you meet and get close to the people you really admire, look up to, became a fan of, always wanted to meet and be with them you will quickly realize that your idea of them is far more superior than who they really are.

People are not who they seem to be. Everyone's flawed. To keep your admiration and obsession, you should keep them far, but if you want that high standard you've given them to fall then get to know them closer and you'll realize how broken and far more imperfect they are.

(This is for the people who admire me and are fans. Trust me, you should just focus on yourself and become someone you're a fan of. I'm flawed in so many ways.)
