Here are some lessons and insights

1. People like video podcasts more than audio only and the views and impressions tell. And it makes sense, if you're on YouTube then you might as well watch a video.

2. Content momentum is a real thing. If you post an Amharic episode, make sure you post even more Amharic episodes. Cause the people that watched the one Amharic episode would want even more in the same language. If you mix languages it breaks the momentum and it won't be as efficient.

3. Shorts are amazing. You should keep uploading shorts. It adds to the watch hours which helps you get monetized fast. A ton of people watch shorts so it's great exposure and reach.

4. Divide your show into seasons or chapters. Producing a podcast show isn't easy, specially if you're aiming high quality and it'll get tiring too quickly. So group your guests and schedule them into seasons.

5. Schedule ahead of time and add gaps between seasons. This will let you finish production earlier and gives you and your team time to rest while your viewers are enjoying content.

6. Have a clear and specific workflow for each team member. This makes working together easier and allows for improvements in the workflows.

Just finished recording a session with Akshay (from Notion). It went well except that the dude is a bit weird and didn't want to talk about God and stuff (which we'll cut out at the end)

The dude not wanting to talk about God was a HUGE turn off, you will see my energy shift to carelessness after it. He did offer some good insights here and there but nothing to be wowed about to be honest.

Anyways for me it was underwhelming. I did ask him all my questions and all the great questions you guys had and atleast he was okay with that which I hope would be helpful to you guys as well.

Also as someone at Notion I expected better setup, lighting, scenes and stuff but it's okay it'll be fine. Mostly because Safaricom was also being annoying on my side too. But can't wait to record other guests tomorrow and talk about God as well.

TBH It wouldn't honor God and it isn't a great work ethic enji in my head I have shut down the session and finished recording right after the moment he didn't want to talk about God. But that's a me thing. Mostly cause one of the reasons I'm doing this is to mention the name of God out in the tech space.

Okay enough blabbering. I should rest, got more epic guests to record this week. I am honestly honored that God brought me face to face with great people like Akshay, and all the other CEOs and founders.

So I guess I do have to address this a bit. Just because I was just a bit sad that I didn't get to talk about God doesn't mean I hated Akshay or anything.

I learnt a lot of technical things and so many interesting topics. In retrospect it was such an insightful conversation, specially after I reviewed the videos and so forth.

You will enjoy it and learn so much from it. But my podcast is a place about God and Tech. So this is okay in some ways. I'll have my fair bit of hearing about people's spiritual journey from a ton of other guests, and provide tech episodes along side it. Just like it is in my channel.

It's in God's will that I get to have these conversations and I'm very honored to talk to all these wonderful people and learn from them.

Just the fact that this random dude got to sit and talk to these epic people in itself glorifies God without me flat out speaking about Him.

The only reason I was kinda sad is because I love Notion and wished everyone was a Christian lol that's it. But as in most US based companies, talking about these things could cost them their jobs and companies so we'll get around it.

Hope that clarifies things.

I thought long about it, talked with my team and I want to make Jamon the last guest for season one of my podcast.

We have now published 10 episodes, 5 Amharic and 5 English. And I think that's perfect for one season.

I have already recorded Akshay (from Notion) and some more people while people like RauchG and other interesting guests you're going to love have rescheduled for early January to record.

So I have decided that I will group these people for the next season of my podcast and start uploading soon.

I want to be ahead of our uploading schedule. Meaning I want atleast half of the episodes privately uploaded to YouTube and scheduled to be released before we start the second season.

Another important thing is quality. I want to try new ways of recording and also give my team more time to work on each episode.

Next Wednesday we're working to upload the last episode which shows you the behind the scenes of our entire workflow from recording to editing to character design and more to show and inspire you to start your own shows.

Thank you for the constant support you've been the absolute best. See you on the last episode of season one.
