We’re pleased to share about the launch of the Traffic Priority System (TPS)🚦, which provides SCDF emergency ambulances 🚑 traffic signal priority within the ‘final mile’ to hospitals.
Co-developed with SCDF and Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX), the TPS uses an in-vehicle electronic transponder to change traffic lights in favour of ambulances at 47 traffic junctions near hospitals. This allows SCDF to enhance their response time in critical situations.
Please continue to give way to ambulances and other emergency vehicles to allow them to reach their destination quickly. 🏥❤️

#Reminder All new diesel car and taxi registrations will no longer be allowed from 1 Jan 2025. 🚫🚗
From 2030, these registrations must be of cleaner-energy models to support Singapore’s vision for all vehicles to run on cleaner energy by 2040. 🌱
Diesel cars registered before 1 Jan 2025 can renew their #COE, but will be subject to higher road taxes as a disincentive to discourage renewal.

🚔 Enforcement operations were carried out against overloaded vehicles over the past two weeks, and 22 vehicles were caught. 🚛
Overloaded vehicles pose a risk for road users 🚗, especially when goods 📦 fall off or spill onto the road, and cause road damage. 🛤️
We urge motorists not to overload their vehicles or they may face fines of up to $1,000 💸 and/or imprisonment for up to three months. These penalties can be doubled for repeat offenders.

🛎 #OBUUpdates Got the OBU installed in your vehicle? From 15 July, the OBU will alert you to more speed camera zones as you drive!
In addition to fixed speed cameras alerts, you will now receive notifications when approaching police speed laser cameras and red light cameras. The OBU will also remind you of the speed limit on the road you are driving on.
🚘🚚 We hope this will encourage safer driving for all motorists. #DriveSafeStaySafe
