#PSA Exciting news for West Coast residents! You can look forward to reducing your travel time to Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2 by 40min when the Cross Island Line Phase 2 (#CRL2) is operational in 2032! 🤩
We’ve awarded the contract for the design and construction of CRL2 West Coast station and tunnels to Gamuda Berhad Singapore Branch. 🥳🚇 Construction works are expected to start in the first quarter of 2024. 🚧
#FunFact With almost half of its stations as interchanges with other rail lines, CRL will connect those living in western Singapore to major hubs such as #JurongLakeDistrict, #PunggolDigitalDistrict, and the #Changi region! ✨

#DidYouKnow – there’ll be a Friendly Street in every town by 2030? 🤔
#FriendlyStreets will enable everyone to commute more conveniently and safely in their ‘hoods, especially for families with children, seniors, and those with mobility needs. 👧🏻👵🏼👩🏽🦽
With more pedestrian-friendly features that make walking or cycling easier to get to key amenities, you can look forward to wider and more barrier-free crossings as well as shorter waiting time at signalised pedestrian crossings.
Best part? These features will be tailored to residents’ needs so that you’ll have a more delightful commute in your ‘hood! ☀️😎💖

#PSA We will be piloting a ✨new wayfinding system in the Central Area and Yishun from Dec 2023!
🪧🚴🏼♂️🚶🏾♀️The new signage system will help pedestrians and cyclists find their way to key landmarks and destinations in these areas.
If this pilot is a success, this system will support the Island-wide Cycling Network and be integrated as a feature of Friendly Streets.
👀 Check out the visual for more details on the new system! 😎

We take a serious view of taxi drivers who tout and overcharge. Such behaviour undermines the integrity of the industry and compromises the interests of passengers.
Seven taxi drivers who recently overcharged their passengers or demanded fares beyond what was metered have been taken to task.
They have been given the opportunity to compound their offences with demerit points, in-lieu of being charged in Court.
Under LTA’s Vocational Licence Demerit Points System, an accumulation of 6 demerit points or more would result in the suspension of the vocational licence, while those with 21 demerit points or more would have their vocational licence revoked.
We will step up enforcement efforts during this festive period to deter errant taxi drivers. Members of the public are encouraged to report incidents of touting, overcharging or drivers refusing to use the taximeter through feedback@LTA.gov.sg or the e-service “Report Vehicle-Related Offences” at www.OneMotoring.lta.gov.sg
