ββπ IELTS WRITING TASK 1 (MAKKAR)
Note, I do not think that this is an authentic source of model essays. Writings that you see in this book will most likely not score 7+ on IELTS. I generally do not trust Makkar, as they are not the official IELTS publishing house.
However, if you aim at 4.0-6.5 for your Writing, you might find some structures and vocabulary to refer to from these essays.

ββπ± A UNIQUE OFFER
I have received a very interesting offer yesterday - there is an opportunity to get an unlimited Netflix account for just on-time payment.
π€ I was skeptical at the beginning, but checked it myself and it works - you get access to everything on Netflix with no monthly payments. The content is available without time constraints.
Considering Netflix is an great resource of high-quality movies and series in English with subtitles, I very much see it as an opportunity to use it for English improvement.
π¬ They charge 40 USD one time only (otherwise you pay around 10 USD per month, and the same sum of money would last you for 4 months only).
If you are interested in this unique opportunity, text me: @D_Sandmartin

π€ͺ IDIOMS ON IELTS - HOW TO USE?
You will never see an "idiom" mentioned in the official IELTS band descriptors. In fact, you will see "the skillful use of idiomatic language" as a requirement to score 7 and more. IE (idiomatic expressions) encompass all phrases that are not translated word-by-word: idioms, phrasal verbs, collocations, turn of phrase.
Remember that on IELTS you have to showcase your natural English, and native speakers do not use idioms a lot naturally. However, they use IE as a whole much more often. In fact, Cambridge illustrates that the following phrases are also idiomatic language:
πOn the contrary
πLast but not least
πIn the long term
πOne step at a time
These are acceptable forms of IE alongside with phrasal verbs that one can safely use in Writing and Speaking, while phrases like "it rains cats and dogs" or "it costs an arm and leg" must be definitely avoided.

βοΈHOW WORDS ARE COUNTED IN IELTS
Example: NOT MORE THAN THREE WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER
1. Numbers, dates and time are counted as words in writing. For example
30,000 = one word
55 = one word
9.30am = one word
12.06.2016 = one word.
In listening, 30,000 is counted as one number and 9.30AM is also counted as one number.
2. Dates written as both words and numbers are counted in this way: 12th July = one number and one word.
3. Symbols with numbers are not counted. For example, 55% = one number (the symbol β%β is not counted as a word). However, if you write β55 percentβ it is counted as one word and one number.
4. Small words such as βaβ or βanβ are counted as one word. All prepositions, such as βinβ or βatβ are also counted. All words are counted.
5. Hyphenated words like βup-to-dateβ are counted as one word.
6. Compound nouns which are written as one word are also counted as one word. For example, blackboard = one word.
7. Compound nouns which are written as two separate words, are counted as two words. For example, university bookshop = two words.
8. All words are counted, including words in brackets. For example in IELTS writing, βThe majority of energy was generated by electricity (55%).β. This sentence is counted as 9 words. The number in brackets is counted.
