Derek Simmons was enjoying a beautiful day at the beach with his family when he noticed something odd. A group of people near the pier were pointing at something in the water. He and his wife thought it was just another shark, but they walked toward the commotion anyway. As it turned out, it wasn’t a shark. It was something much more dangerous.
Nine people were caught in a riptide. That group included a family of six with two small boys and a grandmother, as well as three would-be rescuers who got pulled in while trying to help. They were trying to swim to safety but the current was too strong and they were being pulled away.
The lifeguards had already finished work, so it was up to Derek. He had to think fast. The nine were getting tired and would soon be lost at sea and possibly drowned. He gathered as many people as he could on the beach and got them to hold hands in a line. Soon, he had a human chain of more than 80 people. It reached about 100 yards from the beach into the ocean.
Derek and his wife, Jessica, went out beyond the chain on their body boards and began towing the exhausted swimmers to people in the chain. The 67-year-old grandmother had a heart attack in the water and appeared to have died by the time they got to her, but the human chain pulled her back to shore too.
After about an hour, all nine were passed back along the chain to safety. Even the grandmother survived, saying that she had a vision of her late husband and it wasn’t her time yet. Complete strangers were on the beach hugging and high-fiving. It was a beautiful end to a stressful day at the beach.
Some famous philosophers have said that humans are selfish by nature. They believed that even when a person does something that appears to be selfless, there is always an ulterior motive. But according to recent psychology experiments, when making snap decisions, people’s first instincts are to be cooperative and helpful, not selfish. Only when we have time to think and deliberate, do we become selfish.
Derek Simmons and the 80 rescuers he gathered certainly had little time to think when they put their lives at risk to save the lives of strangers. Derek later said, “It was a wave of humanity that brings some things back into focus, that maybe we haven’t lost all hope in this world.”

A farm boy accidentally overturned his wagonload of corn in the road. The farmer who lived nearby came to see what had happened. "Hey boy ", he called out, "forget your trouble for a moment and come on in and have dinner with us. Then I will help you get the wagon up." " that is very nice of you", the boy answered , "But I don't think Pa would like me to do it."
"Oh, come on, son," the farmer insisted. "Well, okay, " the boy finally agreed. "But pa won't like it." After a hearty dinner, the boy thanked his host. "I feel a lot better now, but I know pa is going to be upset." " I don't think so," said the neighbor. "By the way, where is your pa?" " He is under the wagon."

کشاورز با اصرار گفت : آه بیا برویم پسرم. بالاخره پسر موافقت کرد و گفت: بسیار خوب ، باشد ، ولی بابام دوست ندارد. بعد از شام صمیمانه ، پسر از میزبانش تشکر کرد و گفت : حالا حالم خیلی بهتر شده ، اما می دانم بابام واقعا عصبانی خواهد شد. همسایه گفت : من فکر نمی کنم ، راستی بابات کجاست؟ " او زیر واگن است."

🅾 Mountain Climber 🅾
The night fell heavily in the heights of the mountain, and the man could not see anything. All was black. Zero visibility, and the moon and the stars were covered by the clouds. As he was climbing...only a few feet away from the top of the mountain, he slipped and fell into the air.
Falling at a great speed the climber could only see black spots as he went down, and the terrible sensation of being sucked by gravity. He kept falling... and in those moments of great fear, it came to his mind all the good and bad episodes of his life.
He was thinking now about how close death was getting, when all of a sudden he felt the rope tied pulled his waist. His body was hanging in the air... Only the rope was holding him.
And in that moment of stillness he had no other choice but to scream: "Help me, God". All of a sudden, a deep voice coming from the sky answered: "What do you want me to do?"
"Save me, God!"
"Do you really think I can save you?"
"Of course I believe you can."
"Then cut the rope tied to your waist."
There was a moment of silence... and the man decided to hold on the rope with all his strength.
The rescue team tells that the next day a climber was found dead and frozen. His body was hanging from a rope, his hands holding tight to it, only three feet away from the ground.

کوهنورد درحالی که به سرعت در حال سقوط بود فقط لکه های سیاهی را در مقابل چشمانش می دید، و احساس وحشتناک مکیده شدن به وسیله نیروی جاذبه وجودش را فرا گرفت. همچنان سقوط میکرد... و در آن لحظات بسیار ترسناک، همه ی رویدادهای خوب و بد زندگی به یادش آمد.
اکنون فکر میکرد مرگ چقدر به او نزدیک است. ناگهان احساس کرد که طناب به دور کمرش محکم شده. بدنش میان آسمان و زمین معلق بود و فقط طناب او را نگه داشته بود.
و در آن لحظه سکون، چاره ای نداشت جز آنکه فریاد بکشد"خدایا کمکم کن!". ناگهان صدای پُر طنینی از آسمان جواب داد: "ازمن چه می خواهی؟"
- خدایا نجاتم بده
- آیا واقعا باور داری که من می توانم تو را نجات دهم؟
- البته که باور دارم
- پس طنابی که محکم به کمرت بسته شده را پاره کن.
یک لحظه سکوت... و مرد تصمیم گرفت با تمام نیرو به طناب بچسبد.
گروه نجات می گوید که روز بعد یک کوهنوردِ مُرده و یخ زده را پیدا کردند. بدنش از یک طناب آویزان بود و با دست هایش طناب را محکم گرفته بود... او فقط یک متر از زمین فاصله داشت.
🅾 Mountain Climber 🅾
The night fell heavily in the heights of the mountain, and the man could not see anything. All was black. Zero visibility, and the moon and the stars were covered by the clouds. As he was climbing...only a few feet away from the top of the mountain, he slipped and fell into the air.
Falling at a great speed the climber could only see black spots as he went down, and the terrible sensation of being sucked by gravity. He kept falling... and in those moments of great fear, it came to his mind all the good and bad episodes of his life.
He was thinking now about how close death was getting, when all of a sudden he felt the rope tied pulled his waist. His body was hanging in the air... Only the rope was holding him.
And in that moment of stillness he had no other choice but to scream: "Help me, God". All of a sudden, a deep voice coming from the sky answered: "What do you want me to do?"
"Save me, God!"
"Do you really think I can save you?"
"Of course I believe you can."
"Then cut the rope tied to your waist."
There was a moment of silence... and the man decided to hold on the rope with all his strength.
The rescue team tells that the next day a climber was found dead and frozen. His body was hanging from a rope, his hands holding tight to it, only three feet away from the ground.
