#RamanathaswamyTemple (Rāmanātasvāmi Kōyil) is a #HinduTemple dedicated to the #GodShiva located on #Rameswaram island in the state of #TamilNadu, India. It is also one of the twelve #Jyotirlinga temples. It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, where the three of the most revered Nayanars (Saivite saints), Appar, Sundarar and Tirugnana Sambandar, have glorified the temple with their songs. The temple was expanded during the 12th century by Pandya Dynasty, and its principal shrines sanctum were renovated by Jeyaveera Cinkaiariyan and his successor Gunaveera Cinkaiariyan of the Jaffna kingdom. The temple has the longest corridor among all Hindu temples in India.[1] The temple is located in Rameswaram considered a holy pilgrimage site for Shaivites, Vaishnavites and Smarthas. The presiding deity, the Lingam of Ramanathaswamy (Shiva), was established and worshiped by Rama before crossing his bridge to Lanka.
Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple is located on the serene island of #Rameswaram in #TamilNadu. The structure of this temple is believed to have been built during 12th century CE by the Pandya rulers.

The temple is also acknowledged for housing the longest corridor hall in India made of almost 1000 intricately carved granite pillars. A colossal statue of Nandi 6 metres tall also grabs the attention of many.

A visit to the #RamanathaswamyTemple not only provides you with an unmatched spiritual experience but also gives you an opportunity to witness the grandeur and opulence of the kings in the times gone by.
