It marks the 72nd anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, a starting point for the EU as we know it today.
Only through unity and solidarity are we able to maintain the European project. Together we are stronger.

49 proposals have been shaped over the past months on the basis of citizens’ contributions. These will be conveyed in today’s event to the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the French Republic @EmmanuelMacron for the Council. Citizens from the European and national citizens’ panels will present the key messages of the proposals as well.

She resisted the rise of Nazism in Berlin in the 1930s – she shaped the future of Europe on the island of Ventotene in the 1940s - she pioneered women’s rights across our Union.
The courage of her actions and of her convictions, helped make Europe what it is today.
I start with this picture because for Europe the memory of our past has always framed our future.”
