🇷🇺 Итак миф о том, что маскот RR поставили на колени клиенты, которые видели женский идеал только в позиции преклонения перед их неотвратимым величием, развеян! А причина оказалась прагматико-эстетического плана.

Впервые keeing lady появилась на модели Phantom III, потому что капот этого автомобиля был слишком высок и маскот (к слову он был в полтора раза крупнее, чем на привычных нам моделях, выпущенных на английской фабрике Rolls Royce после 60-х) попросту мешал безопасному автомобилевождению.

Kneeing Lady встречается и на последующих моделях автомобилей 30-х и 40-х. Резонно: потому что смотрится более пропорционально относительно их размера, который с течением времени заметно уменьшается. В дизайне более поздних моделей все же решили пересмотреть масштаб маскота и подняли lady с колен))

А вот современные немецкие производители RR с размером маскота (как и многого другого) просчитали: сокращенный еще в полтора раза маскот на громоздких машинах нового поколения - "чисто символичен" до слез. 🇬🇧 The myth that Rolls Royce's Spirit of Ecstasy symbol was placed on its knees at the behest of certain buyers who saw the female ideal as being subservient has been debunked; the real reason turns out to be based on aesthetics and pragmatism.

The keeing lady first appeared on the Phantom III, the bonnet of which was unusually high; this caused the mascot (which itself was already half again as large as on models produced from the 1960s) to obstruct the driver's view.

The kneeing lady appears on subsequent models produced in the 1930s and 1940s, being better-proportioned to the vehicles' size, which had gradually decreased over time. Later models saw the Spirit of Ecstasy return to her standing position.

The Rolls Royce's current makers miscalculated with regards to the mascot (as they did with many other aspects), reducing its size by half; on the sizable current-generation automobiles, this was 'symbolism' taken too far. It would hardly be surprising if the designers at BMW were to consider it an anachronism altogether... #esthetiquette #rollsroyce #spiritofecstasy

🇬🇧We are often asked what goes well with a classical interior.
Sadly, the television ranks close to the bottom of the list.

Being both conspicuous and somewhat unsightly (hence the frequent but futile attempts encountered to disguise flat screens within gold picture frames))

A preferable alternative for those inclined to snooze in front of the music channel or through an uninteresting news bulletin may be a TV cupboard/cabinet; as well as fitting in with a classically decorated room, it is also considered good Feng Shui 🤗

Увы, телевизор - одна тз самых непристойных.

Что некоторым заметно и как бы даже неудобно (иначе бы мы не были свидетелями тщетной маскировки плазм под картины в золоченых рамах))

Более подходящая маскировка для тех, кто привык дремать под музыкальные трансляции на mezzo или плохие новости на euronews - шкаф для tv. В закрытом виде проходит и по фен-шуй стандартам, и по стандартами классического дома 🤗
