The Screwtape Letters, one of my favorite reads of all time.
The story takes the form of a series of letters from a senior demon Screwtape to his nephew Wormwood, a junior tempter. The uncle's mentorship pertains to the nephew's responsibility in securing the damnation of a British man known only as "the Patient."

It's a Christian apologetic novel written in a satirical, epistolary style & while it's fictional in format, the plot & characters are used to address Christian theological issues, primarily those to do with temptation & resistance to it.
It's really entertaining and very clever. I've honestly lost count over how many times I've read it but everytime I revisit it, it's as equally enjoyable.

Weird thing is that my parents had the book @ home for soooo long. And it was just some random boring day that I stumbled across it.
And BAM 💥 it was sooo worth it.
I mean, it's so creative. It's written in the devil's point of view and you literally relate to it. Like you've seen it happen in your life. Not to mention it's funny, short and easy to understand.

Some lovely quotes from it.
All said from the POV of the devil.
"Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one—the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts."
"Do not be deceived, Wormwood. Our cause is never more in danger than when a human, no longer desiring, but still intending, to do our Enemy’s will, looks round upon a universe from which every trace of Him seems to have vanished, and asks why he has been forsaken, and still obeys."
"If you can once get him to the point of thinking that ‘religion is all very well up to a point,’ you can feel quite happy about his soul. A moderated religion is as good for us as no religion at all- and more amusing."
"Never forget that when we are dealing with any pleasure in its healthy and normal and satisfying form, we are, in a sense, on the Enemy’s ground. I know we have won many a soul through pleasure. All the same, it is His invention, not ours. He made the pleasures: all our research so far has not enabled us to produce one. All we can do is to encourage the humans to take the pleasures which our Enemy has produced, at times, or in ways, or in degrees, which He has forbidden."
"The more often he feels without acting, the less he will be able ever to act, and, in the long run, the less he will be able to feel.”
"For the Present is the point at which time touches eternity."
"When He [God] talks of their losing their selves, He means only abandoning the clamour of self-will; once they have done that, He really gives them back all their personality, and boasts (I am afraid, sincerely) that when they are wholly His they will be more themselves than ever."
"When they have really learned to love their neighbours as themselves, they will be allowed to love themselves as their neighbours."
"Nearly all vices are rooted in the future. Gratitude looks to the past and love to the present; fear, avarice, lust and ambition look ahead."
"The game is to have them all running about with fire extinguishers when there is a flood, and all crowding to that side of the boat which is already nearly gunwale under."
