The Art of Doing Science and Engineering: Learning to Learn by Richard Hamming.

Richard Hamming is a Turing Award winner who in 1945 joined the Manhattan Project (Yes, he's part of the crew who developed the first Nuclear Bomb), he was responsible for programming early IBM calculating machines that computed solutions.

After World War II, Hamming joined Bell Labs. He developed the Hamming Code, an error-correcting code that allows for automatic correction of errors in data transmission. also created the Hamming window, a mathematical function used in signal processing.

For a book first published in 1996, the predictions are strangely accurate. The writing is so light and straight forward. If you're an engineer or a tech person this will def grab your attention. You don't have to read in sequence, you can check the table of contents and read the section you're interested in.
