Imagine a therapy project turning into one of the biggest open source projects where thousands of people are working on from all around the world and funding is flowing in from everywhere. 🤯 So wholesome 🥰

A little more info about the browser I'm building. • It's MINIMAL (asf) • It's a terminal browser • Midway building it and the lines between a scraper and a browser are blurring • Currently supports a few homepages • Using Rust, tokio, reqwest, crossterm…
I always wondered why LadyBird browser builders used websites to build their browsers around... Makes complete sense now. And I'm so impressed at what they're able to do.

I thought browsers were just simple web scrapers and that was it. WEFFF it's so much more. I'm going the terminal browser route cause I don't even wanna bother with css styling.

I can't even imagine what Firefox and Chrome have been able to accomplish. Incredibly impressed. And completely out of my league for now!

A great article explaining an overview of the work involved with browser building.

The more I add features to my terminal browser, infinitely more I'm impressed with what Catalin and the community at SerenityOS and LadyBird have been able to achieve.

I used to watch Ladybird devlogs and updates all the time but I never really understood why so much work was needed.

Now that I started making my own lame terminal browser, my mind is just absolute blown away by the effort and things the Ladybird community has accomplished

I mean I can't imagine the hassle they went through to get VSCode and Discord to work!

So happy for Andreas, this's such an inspiration and a blessing from God. My dude started as an addict, then now he's leading one of the most funded open source browsers ever.

The world needs an independent, open source browser free of corporate interests.

Congrats to him! As an open source guy, this's inspiring. 🥳
