You can enjoy the lagging & slow processing in ASMR. It used to be my favorite phone back in 2013GC. 😅

The dead internet theory

It is a hypothesis that the internet is becoming increasingly less genuine and human-curated, and is instead becoming dominated by automated content and bots.

The theory point to the fact that many websites and social media platforms are now dominated by content that is generated by algorithms or bots, rather than by real people.

It also argues that the internet is becoming increasingly homogenized, as the same content is shared and spread across multiple platforms.

If you're curious what that date is it is Unix time and it is the number of seconds that passed since 00:00:00 on Thursday, 1 January 1970 UTC which is referred to as the Unix epoch. It's usually used in computing to keep track of time.

But it has some limitations like:
• Year 2038 Problem: Times after 03:14:07 UTC on 19 January 2038 will require computers to store the value as greater than 32-bits. Systems built on 32-bits processors will crash.
• Pre-1970 Timestamps: any timestamp prior to 1970 needs to be represented as a negative number

Early Unix engineers picked that date arbitrarily because they needed to set a uniform date for the start of time, and New Year's Day, 1970, seemed most convenient.

Some client server communication types

1. Long Polling
• Advantage: Works with existing infrastructure and is compatible with all browsers.
• Disadvantage: It is less efficient than other methods due to the overhead of opening and closing multiple connections.
• Use Cases: when we don't need real-time updates like when you want to fetch several users for a subscriber count

2. Web Sockets
• Advantage: low latency and support for bi-directional communication.
• Disadvantage: requires a specific WebSocket server implementation, and older browsers don't support it.
• Use Cases: where real time data is needed like chat applications or data visualization dashboards or maps,

3. Server Sent Events
• Advantage: built on top of the standard HTTP protocol, making it easy to implement. It is more efficient than long polling and is supported by most browsers.
• Disadvantage: it is unidirectional, does not keep sending messages from the client to the server, and doesn't support binary data.
• Use Cases: for sending data from client to server is unnecessary like some status updates or push notifications.
