Agora is Greek for “open place of assembly” and, early in the history of Greece, designated the area in the city where free-born citizens could gather to hear civic announcements, muster for military campaigns or discuss politics. In AEGEE, Agora is the General Assembly of the association, held twice a year, in spring and in autumn, gathering over 600 students in one place to build the future of the organisation together.

The general theme of the Agora will be digitalization, e-governance and youth work, namely aiming to understand the impact of digitalization in young people’s lives, good and transparent governance in the digital era; the difference between active citizenship and digital citizenship and political activism, and more.

Now more than ever there is an emerging need to strengthen online services and the Agora Yerevan 2021 will be a great opportunity to redeliver the thematic part of the event - digitalization and good governance.
