Agora is Greek for “open place of assembly” and, early in the history of Greece, designated the area in the city where free-born citizens could gather to hear civic announcements, muster for military campaigns or discuss politics. In AEGEE, Agora is the General Assembly of the association, held twice a year, in spring and in autumn, gathering over 600 students in one place to build the future of the organisation together.

The general theme of the Agora will be digitalization, e-governance and youth work, namely aiming to understand the impact of digitalization in young people’s lives, good and transparent governance in the digital era; the difference between active citizenship and digital citizenship and political activism, and more.

📌 After careful consideration, we have decided that due to the ongoing worldwide COVID-19 crisis Spring Agora Yerevan 2020 can no longer take place as scheduled for the 6-11th of May 2020.
🗓 Together with all the involved parties, we are currently looking into the possibility of postponing the event to later dates. ✈️As you know, the Covid-19 has created a huge crisis, and unfortunately, many of you are now restricted to travel and to attend events.
The organizational team remains motivated and ready to its best in order to properly re-arrange all the necessary preparatory, taking into account the new realities and public health measures. 🇪🇺We believe that this decision is in the best interest of everyone involved in this huge pan-European project.

📌 We are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation with our partners and everyone in organizing the first General Assembly of AEGEE / European Students' Forum to take place in the South Caucasus. 🌍 Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the European community is undergoing rapid changes and the young people are part of that transformation. Now more than ever there is an emerging need to strengthen online services and the Agora Yerevan 2021 will be a great opportunity to redeliver the thematic part of the event - digitalization and good governance. Moreover, alongside with our enthusiasm and responsible approach, we are ready to showcase in full our city’s cultural and historical diversity 🇦🇲. At the same time, our potential, and our links with the national volunteering traditions, will allow AEGEEans to leave a powerful and constructive legacy in the region. We are confident that the Agora Yerevan will warm up hundreds of hearts and inspire the young Europeans to build new bonds of friendship all over Europe 🇪🇺!
