ለአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ፣ለሲቪል ማህበራት፣ለግልና መንግስት ተቋማት አመራሮች በአመራር ክህሎት ዙሪያ በአፍሪካ አመራር ልህቀት አካዳሚ ስልጠና እየተሰጠ ነው።
በአፍሪካ አመራር ልህቀት አካዳሚ የፕሮግራም ዘርፍ ምክትል ርዕሰ አካዳሚ ህይወት አለማየሁ አካዳሚው አመራሩን ወደ ልህቀት ይወስዳል የተባለ ስልጠና ትናንት ሲጀመር እንደገለጹት፤ ውጤታማ አመራር ለመፍጠር ስልጠና ወሳኝ መሆኑንና ብቃት ያላቸው ተተኪ አመራሮችን ለማፍራት ያግዛል ብለዋል።
እየተሰጠ ያለው ስልጠና በመንግስት፣ በግልና በአካዳሚው ውስጥ ላሉ ከፍተኛ አመራሮችና በፖለቲካው መስክ ላሉ አመራሮች ጭምር መሆኑን የጠቀሱት ምክትል ርዕሰ አካዳሚዋ፤ ወቅቱን የዋጀና የአመራር ጥበብን የተላበሰ አመራር ለማፍራት እየተሰሩ ካሉ ስራዎች አንዱ ስልጠና መሆኑን ተናግረዋል። የስልጠናው ዋና ዓላማ አመራሮችን ወደ ልህቀት መውሰድ መሆኑን የገለጹት ምክትል ርዕሰ አካዳሚዋ፤የሚሰጠው ስልጠናም በተለያዩ የኃላፊነት ቦታ ላይ የሚያገለግሉ አመራሮች በተሻለ እውቀትና ክህሎት ህዝቡንና ተቋማቸውን እንዲመሩ የሚያስችል መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።
በአካዳሚው የሚሰጡ ስልጠናዎች አጫጭርና የአመራር ጥበብን የሚያላብሱ መሆናቸውን በመጥቀስም ሰልጣኞች በስልጠና ያገኙትን ክህሎት በስራ ላይ ለመተግበር አላማ ይዘው እንዲሰሩ ትልቅ አቅም የሚፈጥር ነው ብለዋል። በቀጣይም ስልጠና በወሰዱ የአመራር ተቋማት ላይ የስልጠናው ውጤት ምን እንደሚመስል ጥናት ይደረጋል ብለዋል።

Leadership training is being offered by AFLEX to 80 participants from Addis Ababa University, civil society organizations, private, and public institutions.
During the opening session, Mrs. Hiwot Alemayehu, Vice Chief of the Academy, said that training is crucial in creating effective leadership and skilled emerging leaders. The primary goal of the training is to assist leaders in achieving excellence. Through the training, leaders in a variety of positions of leadership will be more capable to handle their leadership systems and organizations that are under their authority.

AFLEX and Ethiopian Airlines (EAL) jointly started conducting research on "INSTITUTIONAL LEADERSHIP, CAPABILITY and INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES". Significance of this research is mainly 1) To Draw lessons on institutional leadership that can be replicated by other public & private institutions in the continent፣ 2) To fill the research gap on key areas of institutionalization of EAL and 3) To provide policy recommendations for institutional building.

African Leadership Excellence Academy (AFLEX) is conducting a consultative workshop on the theme of adult learning in the 21st Century at the Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa.
Opening the workshop, Mehret Debebe, Chief of AFLEX, remarked that the workshop created a great chance to understand the capacity and limitations of adult trainees related leadership development programs.
He added that the workshop helps to find solutions that provide information about adult learning models and their emotional, behavioral, and moral issues.
The workshop will discuss the principles, technological aspects, types, and challenges of adult focused training.
The workshop is expected to bring together the best experiences of countries in adult learning techniques.
The two-days workshop has brought relevant stakeholders from federal and regional states to enhance their engagement in the effectiveness of their training modalities.

African Leadership Excellence Academy and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have launched a new 300,000 USD pilot project to train women in leadership development.
The pilot project will train and benefit over 50 women from different federal government organizations and public development enterprises.
Launching the pilot project, Dr. Mehret Debebe, Chief of the African Leadership Excellence Academy, said the aim of the project is to build women’s leadership capacity and solve their leadership skills and gaps.
Dr. Mehret further stated that the pilot project is one pillar of the academy that will provide women the right skills and build their leadership network and confidence. AFLEX believes that without women's participation in leadership and decision-making roles, development, and peace are unjust, and they do not prioritise the needs of women and their families.
