Wild North 2019 – Post Event Newsletter
Thank you to everyone who attended Wild North 2019. We are delighted that people had such a great time.
We have a couple of announcements to make, starting with the charity. We have finished counting the charity money, and the final figure we have raised for Pawz for Thought is £187.93. This is an astounding figure, and I am sure that the charity will be delighted with our support. So thank you all very much.
We are always open to suggestions for how to make Wild North even better. If you have any ideas, thoughts, or general comments to share with us, we have set up a Google Form. You can leave as many responses as you like, anonymously if you wish. Please send us your feedback by the end of Wednesday 9 October. Depending on the responses we get, we may put together a follow-up post.
https://forms.gle/S4HunorfWCGkkA9u8
And so, as autumn draws in, it is time for hibernation. However, we can make one final very important announcement. We can now confirm that Wild North 2020 will be held, once again, at Featherstone Castle, from Friday 25 to 28 September 2020. Registration is due to open on Friday 28 February 2020. So note the date, and we’ll see you next year!

Hey Flufftails! I wanted to say thank you to everyone who’s given us feedback. We look forward to using it to make the con even better going forward.
We’d like to focus on a few points that people have raised:
First, thank you for all your catering-related comments. It’s given us plenty of food for thought. We are planning to aim for more variety in meals, and possibly some ‘takeaway-style’ options. We are also considering a different approach to breakfast. We’re looking at continental breakfast options, with cooked items on request. Evening meals will still be communal. Also, nearer the time, we’ll be looking for some additional paws to help in the kitchen. If you think you’d be interested, please get in touch with @KingKivuli.
We’ll be looking to introduce some new events next year, including some active events for fursuiters, and also a dedicated open mic and stage area. So if you fancy singing, playing or otherwise entertaining us, you can. If the weather’s good, we’ll look to run some more outdoor events. Also, if anyone would like to run an event themselves, please contact @Tyde_Ratmeat, and this can be worked into the events calendar.
On that note, thank you to the people who brought board games and card games. We’d like to make the Stone Hall our designated gaming hall, and we aim to have a broad selection of games again next year. If you’d like to play one, you’ll be welcome to help yourself. Also, if you’d like to bring your own games, please do.
We’ll also keep some outdoor games in the Gun Room (including Frisbee, cricket, and of course the kubb set). So, weather permitting, you can enjoy these too.
Thank you once again, now it’s hibernation time. See you in the New Year.

Hello! We are pleased to announce the theme for Wild North 2020.
"An Epic Tail of Britain"
This year, we will uncover and rediscover the story of who we are. As a fandom, as a nation, as a community. So join us for sagas of heroes and beasts from centuries gone by, tales from every corner of these islands... and of course, the stories and memories we create together.
Also, we now have a new, simpler web address.
wildnorth.uk
The site has had a little refresh, and will continue to be updated in the run-up to WN2020.
(Many thanks to Gem @Sqynx for the artwork)

Hey Flufftails!
It is so cold and wet out here, and I've been dragged out of hibernation cause there is work to be done!
The team and I have already discussed our timetable to keep things organised in the following months, how to keep you all entertained during your time with us, and RAIDING YOUR WALLETS. I mean, er, deciding how best to spend your gold!
So be on the look out the next few months for more information, including Wild North 2020 Registration announcements!

Hello everyone. I'm here for the rest of the evening, to help with reg. I'm planning to put an FAQ page on the website, which should hopefully cover most questions. However I expect there may be more questions during the evening, so feel free to drop them in this chat.
Heya Flufftails!
Registration is open and there’s work to do! So I would like YOU to help us!
We need art! For the conbook, for the T-Shirts, maybe even the website.
We are also open for any poems or short stories to be part of the con book!
If anyone wants to submit any work that can be used for the convention and its theme (‘An Epic Tail of Britain’), then just email it in (wildnorthuk@gmail.com), or message @TydeRatmeat!
As a rough guide, we'll need T shirt designs by the end of June, everything else by the start of August.
I am excited to see what you fluffs come up with this year!
Be in touch soon!

Good Evening Everyone!
Just a quick announcement for you all in regards to recent news from the government, and about the Corona Virus in general.
As it stands we are still going ahead with Wild North! We see no reason to cancel the con as it is still 6 months away, and a lot can happen in that time.
We will of course keep you all informed if there are any updates and changes we make.
For now though, you can all look forward to happy fuzzy time!
Look forward to seeing you all in the near future
If you do have any questions, please feel free to email us at: wildnorthuk@gmail.com

Morning Flufftails!
We would like to let you all know that on the Saturday of Wild North, we will be running an evening of sharing poorly written tales of yore!
There will even be a competition for the best/worst tale, so if you have an amusing story to tell, we would love to hear it. Please submit your written entries to us attached in an email (wildnorthuk@gmail.com) with "Story Competition" in the subject header, and include your name so we know who wrote it. We expect tales to be no longer than 1500 words, and last submissions will be accepted on Friday 11th September.
We are also looking for artwork, stories and poems to be featured in our conbook, so do send us your best for that as well! We cannot wait to see what you'll have to show!
