We've received news that Dragoneer, the owner of the website FurAffinity, had passed away earlier this morning.

The organising staff at Wild North all wish to give our condolences to his friends and family in these difficult times, and give our thanks to Dragoneer for helping our community grow to what it is today.

The time has come for the Wild North Kubb Tournament!

For those unfamiliar with Kubb, it’s an old Viking lawn game of knocking down your opponent's towers before finishing the king. (Here's a link with a quick rule overview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtqVqrcVgVY )

This is a team event, and we're asking interested people to sign up ahead of the con.

We need at least four teams of three players, and yes, fursuiters can play and are actively encouraged! (Though we do have a limit of one suiter per team.)

So gather your raiding party, pillage your enemies' towers and topple the king!

Just to let you know, spaces are limited, so booking early is advised.

For those of you who are travelling by train, here are the list of times that we will be able to pick you up from Haltwhistle railway station (NE49 9HN):

For Set-Up Day (Thursday 26 September):

If you arrive earlier, please wait in Haltwhistle until the first pick-up at 14:00. Shops and cafes are a few minutes’ walk from the railway station.

If you arrive later, please arrange a lift with other attendee(s).

In case of travel disruption, please note we can only provide lifts to/from Haltwhistle. If you need to, please make alternative travel arrangements to/from the Haltwhistle area.

We are a few days away from Wild North! As such, we'd like to present you with what food will be provided during the event:

Hello everyone, with Wild North only a few days away, here is a list for attendees of what to bring:
- Proof of identity
- Bedding (e.g. sleeping bag, sheets, blanket)
- Pillow and pillowcase
- Warm clothes
- Toiletries (e.g. toothpaste, soap, shampoo)
- Towels
- Cash for Sunday takeaway and Trading Post
- Spending money for Beamish - admission (£24.95 adult, £18.95 student), food, gifts
- Snacks and drinks (optional)
- Multi-socket extension cord

The nearest shops, facilities and cash machines are in Haltwhistle, 4 miles away (10 min drive). Therefore, please bring what you need when you first arrive. Someone may offer you a lift back to the shops, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Please note that all food (except the Sunday food truck) is provided and included in your registration fee. You may bring a few extra items, but the group food gets priority fridge space.

For outdoor activities like the country hike, walking boots and thick socks would be preferred.
