👮🏻♂️ Recently, our enforcement officers took action against a retailer, impounding 5 non-compliant active mobility devices (AMDs) and 1 unregistered vehicle. This follows an earlier operation in the Old Choa Chu Kang area, where 9 unregistered vehicles were seized.
We detected a total of 8 offences, including:
🚫 Displaying non-compliant power-assisted bicycles (#PAB) and personal mobility devices (#PMD)
🚫Failing to display warning notice
🧑🏻⚖️ Under Section 34(1) of the Active Mobility Act 2017, selling non-compliant AMDs is an offence. Individuals face penalties up to $20,000 and/or 24 months jail, while companies face fines up to $40,000.
👨🏻⚖️ Keeping or using an unregistered vehicle is also an offence under Section 10(1) of the Road Traffic Act, with penalties up to $2,000 and/or 3 months jail.
