Active Mobility Device Fires
🔥 There have been a few cases of active mobility device fires recently.
One of them was of a PAB fire that occurred at Punggol Way and the other, a PMD fire that occurred in a flat at Bukit Batok West. Both involved the batteries of the devices.
#Reminder Motorised devices that do not comply with safety standards, are modified or are not properly maintained are a fire risk. 🔥
💡 To prevent such fires, use only UL2272-certified PMDs and PABs that comply with the EN15194 standard. 𝘿𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙮 your devices as this will compromise the safety certification.
Here are some safety tips to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

Commencement of Import Control Regime for PABs and motorised PMDs
🚲🛴 All PABs and motorised PMDs will require a permit to be imported into Singapore from today, 28 June 2021.
⚠️ Importers will need to ensure that devices meet criteria such as maximum width, weight and device speed, and standards such as UL2272 for PMDs and the new EN15194:2017 for PABs.
👮🏻♀️👮🏽♂️ This regime will help stem the inflow of non-compliant devices and ensure path and fire safety for all. #RideSafeStaySafe
