🎉 Construction on the Cross Island Line (#CRL) Phase 2 has commenced! 🚇
Targeted for completion by 2032, #CRL2 will add six new underground stations along a 15-kilometer stretch, enhancing connectivity in Singapore’s western region.
Journey times between western parts of Singapore and other parts of the island will be reduced from over an hour by bus and train today to 30 minutes with #CRL 💫
#Funfact ⬇️ King Albert Park interchange station will be Singapore's deepest station at 50 metres (equivalent to a 16-storey building)! 🏗️
#CRL will be our 8th and longest fully-underground #MRT line (over 50km long when fully completed), and it'll connect existing and future developments in the eastern, western, and north-eastern corridors and link major hubs such as the Jurong Lake District, Punggol Digital District and Changi. The entire #CRL is expected to see a daily ridership of more than 600,000 when it opens in phases from 2030.

👮🏻♂️Acting on tip-offs from the National Private Hire Vehicles Association (NPHVA) and members of public, our enforcement officers booked 22 drivers yesterday (11 July) at Changi Airport and Gardens by the Bay for providing illegal ride-hailing services within Singapore, and to/from Malaysia. Their vehicles were also impounded. 🚗
⚠️ Commuters should avoid using such illegal services. They lack proper insurance and pose safety risks to passengers. They also affect the livelihoods of licensed drivers.
🚨 LTA will continue to take firm action against illegal point-to-point services, including cross-border transport services, which do not have a valid Public Service Vehicle Licence (PSVL).
Offenders may face up to $3,000 fines and/or six months imprisonment. Their vehicles may also be forfeited.
