Thanks to her expertise and swift responsiveness, Ikram became a key figure in the success of GDSC AASTU’s social media outreach. Ikram helped increase community engagement by 90% and grew the community to over 3,000 followers.

Beyond her contributions to GDSC AASTU, Ikram has an impressive professional background. She currently works as a Mobile Application Developer Intern at Eskalate, where she uses Flutter and clean architecture principles to create visually appealing, high-performing apps. She is also a Software Engineering Trainee at A2SV | Africa to Silicon Valley, where she hones her problem-solving and algorithmic skills. Her vast experiences in mobile development, content creation, and digital marketing showcase her dedication to both tech and community growth.

Today, we're excited to introduce Biruk Mesfin, an essential member of our GDSC AASTU community who has made significant contributions as both a content manager and graphics designer. Biruk has been key in enhancing our community’s visual presence by creating eye-catching designs that resonate with our audience. His creativity and attention to detail not only enriched our branding but also helped triple our subscriber count, boosting our social media reach and engagement. In addition to his design work, Biruk served as our backstage manager for many events, including the AASTU TECH FEST. He played a vital role in ensuring everything ran smoothly by overseeing technical aspects.

Beyond his contributions to GDSC AASTU, Biruk has a rich professional background. He is currently the Lead Web Developer at Spark Tank, where he focuses on connecting investors with entrepreneurs through innovative technology. As the Founder of Innovate Fusion, he led a team that achieved remarkable success in the A2SV Generative AI For Africa Hackathon, winning the Best Technical Implementation Award for their project, The Architect, which showcased groundbreaking ideas in generative AI.

Biruk also serves as the Co-Founder and Public Relations Lead of the AASTU Software Engineering Association, where he works to strengthen the community of aspiring software engineers. His experience as a Front-End Developer Intern at Eskalate and as a Software Engineering Intern at Headstarter further demonstrates his technical skills and commitment to professional growth. He also worked as a Product Manager Intern at A2SV | Africa to Silicon Valley, where he actively participates in product development processes.

As Biruk continues to innovate and inspire, we are excited to see how he will further contribute to the tech community and empower those around him as the incoming GDSC AASTU Lead for this year.
