Will You Receive Only Good From God?

Job was a man who feared God! God said that Job was perfect and upright! Job hated evil and he avoided it! So trusted was Job in the eyes of the LORD, that He knew Job would withstand the strongest of testing, and stand firm in his integrity, and in his allegiance to God!

Job 1:1
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

Job was a very wealthy man, not only physically but he had a family and friends whom he loved as well!

Letโ€™s look at how Job stood up under the fiery trial that God allowed โ€” and even suggested to Satan!

Job 1:8-12
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered My servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not Thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth Thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse Thee to Thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

Beloved, how would you fare if you were in Jobโ€™s shoes? I think like Peter I would say, LORD, I will never deny You, but in the middle of the trial would I be able to keep my vow?

Matthew 26:33-34
Peter answered and said unto Him, Though all men shall be offended because of Thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny Me thrice.

Paul told the church at Corinth to consider carefully whether they could stand firm in the trials of life! But he also assured them that if they relied on God, He would always provide the strength for each trial! The promise is He will not give you more than you are able to withstand in His strength!

1 Corinthians 10:12-13
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Deuteronomy 33:25
Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.

Letโ€™s get back to Job to see what happened next! Job had no idea what was about to be unleashed upon him!

Job 1:13-20
And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Wave after wave of terrible news was brought to Job! Even the strongest of men would be unable to withstand this devastation! Letโ€™s see how Job responded!

Job 1:20 - 22
Forwarded from RunningTheRace โœž (RunningTheRace)
Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the Name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Only a man or woman who fully trusted God could hear the news Job received and respond with worship!

As I think back over my life, I see how many things the LORD has given and then taken away! If I did not trust Him I would despair at the thought of family and friends I once held dear, but are no longer a part of my life! In fact, it is just these thoughts that led me to this message today!

Will we only worship and be thankful to the LORD when we receive good from His hand? Or will we also worship Him in adversity?

This wasnโ€™t the end of Jobโ€™s testing, beloved! There was much more to come!

Job 2:3-9
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered My servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst Me against him, to destroy him without cause. And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. But put forth Thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse Thee to Thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes. Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

The only family Job had left was his wife, and she told Job to curse God and die! What a sad state of affairs!

Here is Jobโ€™s response to his wife!

Job 2:10
But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Then even Jobโ€™s friends who supposedly came to comfort him, accused him! Surely some sin in his life allowed all this evil and pain, but his friends were wrong, and in the end the LORD had Job pray for them so they would not be consumed by the wrath of God!

Through all of this Job said this!

Job 13:13,15
Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will. [15] Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain mine own ways before Him.

Job knew he had done nothing to deserve this onslaught of evil, and he maintained his integrity, and would, even if it meant his death!

Did Job question what was happening to him during all of this? Did he question God about it? Yes, he did, but in the end of His conversations with the LORD, he said this to Him!

Job 42:2-10
I know that Thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from Thee. Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. Hear, I beseech Thee, and I will speak: I will demand of Thee, and declare Thou unto me. I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth Thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of Me the thing that is right, as My servant Job hath. Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of Me the thing which is right, like My servant Job.
Forwarded from RunningTheRace โœž (RunningTheRace)
So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job. And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Job 42:12-13,17
So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters. [17] So Job died, being old and full of days.

Even though Job was tested without cause, he learned through his testing! So often the greatest lessons, and the greatest spiritual growth come through our trials! I know this has been so true in my life! Like Job, we know about God, but in our trials, we experience first hand His strength and power!

We say as Job did, โ€œI have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth Thee.โ€

Will you maintain your integrity, no matter what comes your way; no matter what God allows? No matter who or what is removed from your life? Will you receive adversity as well as good and still worship Him through it? Will you say with Job โ€” though He slay me, yet will I serve Him?

Why Not Rather Be Wronged!

Do you feel that you been wronged? How will you respond? The natural thing for a person who feels they have been wronged to do is to lash out at the person who has wronged them โ€” but Christians are not to do the natural thing!

We are told to do what is against human nature! We are told to take the wrong!

1 Corinthians 6:7
Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

Jesus was reviled, but He did not retaliate. If ever a person was wronged โ€” it was Jesus! But, He humbled Himself and took the wrong, even to the point of death!

Philippians 2:5-11
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

We are to follow His example! How did Jesus respond? What would He do if He were in our situation?

1 Peter 2:21-23
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth: Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously.

How often do we respond with evil words, and with guile in our mouths?

Jesus committed Himself to His righteous Father! We too must commit ourselves to our righteous Judge!

Our responsibility as Christians is to be obedient to Him; He will repay wrong doers!

Jesus left heaven to die for us, and offer salvation to all who would come to Him โ€” yet He was despised and rejected by those He came to save! Remember this the next time you feel you have suffered an injustice or been wronged!

Isaiah 53:3-5
He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of Sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

Beloved if you are His child, and allow His Spirit in you to have His way โ€” if you submit your will to His โ€” He can do it through you!

Only when we are willing to lay aside our own self interests, and selfish desires will we respond in the Spirit, or rather take the wrong and as Jesus did, not open our mouths to respond!

Only a humble and obedient heart will we be able to accept being wronged! It is unnatural to the human flesh! Jesus is our example!

Isaiah 50:6
I gave My back to the smiters, and My cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not My face from shame and spitting.

This is what Jesus told His disciples! He told them to do the hardest things! Things that were the opposite of what the world teaches, and of what the flesh desires!

Matthew 5:38-48
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Forwarded from RunningTheRace โœž (RunningTheRace)
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others ? do not even the publicans so?

Why not rather take the wrong you have suffered than seek your own way? I understand these are hard words, but even so, we must choose to be obedient!

Beloved, again I remind us that this is only possible by His Spirit working in us, and through us!

During a particular difficulty, I asked the LORD how I could make it through! These were His Words to me โ€” Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit saith the Lord of Hosts! He said, You canโ€™t do it child, Only My Spirit in you can! It is the same for any situation โ€” only by His Spirit!

The Word of God says we are not to seek retribution for a wrong done to us! Retribution, or vengeance belongs to Him alone!

Proverbs 20:22
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and He shall save thee.

Romans 12:17-21
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the LORD. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Paul tells the church at Corinth how he had to respond, and how they too must also respond in the face of persecution and abuse from men!

1 Corinthians 4:12-14
And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.

He tells the church at Rome this!

Romans 12:14
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

LORD, search our hearts and show us our sins! Forgive us for responding in our flesh, and for lashing out with angry or hurtful words! Forgive us for seeking our own retribution for the wrongs done against us! Cleanse our hearts from all unrighteousness! Help us to submit to Your Word, and to Your Spirit, and take the wrongs done against us โ€” knowing that You will see to the wrongdoers, in Jesus Name!

Patriot Front marched again today, this time in Charleston, West Virginia. Of course every Leftst on Twitter is screaming about "nazis" while every Right winger is tweeting about how the Feds are on the march again.

These misguided LARPers are only hurting whatever cause they think they're marching for every time they gather. (They're basically White nationalists or White identitarians, but they try to mask that, no pun intended, under very vague language on their website.) They serve as the boogeyman this election cycle that there is a secret society of "nazis" throughout America.

Millions of White people have finally started to denounce antiwhiteism, but these guys turn 99.9% of White people off with their little flash mobs and militant-looking marches, which should lead the members who aren't Feds reevaluate their tactics, methods, and hobbies.

Of course they're not all feds (but undoubtedly feds are in leadership positions and helping direct the group). The rest are just misguided and dissafected guys who are using this LARPing as an outlet for their frustrations about what has happened to America. But this is moronic and completely counterproductive to the causes they think they are standing up for. It's only going to make people more hesitant to denounce antiwhiteism and stand up for White people because they won't want to be lumped in with these clowns.

They don't educate (Thomas Rousseau couldn't even name a single book he could recommend during his interview with Keith Woods), they don't inspire, they don't work as bodyguards to protect Americans from the communists at conservative events. They just LARP around for their viral moment chanting their banal and empty slogans and pat themselves on the back thinking they've done something for trending on Twitter.

It may get them a few new disgruntled White members each time, but the cost is ostracizing 99.9% of other White people who just roll their eyes and are further discouraged from having anything to do with "pro-White" activities or White identity politics.

Candace Owens has done more to expose antiwhiteism and promote White identity than these guys. A black woman! Sad.

Rejoice!

We are told in the Word of God to always rejoice โ€” But we are also told there are times we should not rejoice!

Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the LORD alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Solomon wrote that there is a time to rejoice and a time to mourn!

Ecclesiastes 3:1,4
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: [4] A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

The scriptures also tell us some times we should not rejoice! This can be difficult, but when we have the heart of our Father, we can do it!

We are not to rejoice when our enemies fall! Our Father says that He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked!

Ezekiel 33:11
Say unto them, As I live, saith the LORD GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live.

Proverbs 24:17-18
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the LORD see it, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him.

The Word of God also tells us that when righteous men are in authority, His people will rejoice โ€” But when the wicked rule the people mourn!

Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Letโ€™s look at some scriptures that talk about the reasons we are to rejoice! First of all we are to rejoice in the LORD for making a way for us to be reconciled to Him!

Psalm 118:19-24
Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD: This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. I will praise Thee: for Thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The Stone Which the builders refused is become the Head Stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

This day that is spoken of in this Psalm โ€” The day which the LORD hath made โ€” is the day salvation is offered through His beloved Son, Jesus Christ! That day is still โ€” Today! You can be saved today, if you havenโ€™t been!

Rejoice that He has made you able through His sacrifice to enter into the rest promised to those who believe in Him; those who remain steadfast to the end!

Zechariah 9:9
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Isaiah 61:10
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

All those who put their trust in the LORD should rejoice, and sing for joy, knowing what He has done, and has promised to do for you!

He saves us, He protects and defends us, He blesses us, He surrounds us with favor!

Psalm 5:11-12
But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy Name be joyful in Thee. For Thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt Thou compass him as with a shield.

We can always rejoice in knowing that whatever we bring to Him in prayer, believing โ€” He will take care of it! We can rejoice with thanksgiving, and leave our cares with Him and go in peace!

Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the LORD alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The LORD is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Forwarded from RunningTheRace โœž (RunningTheRace)
We are to rejoice in our suffering and trials! This is often the most difficult time to rejoice isnโ€™t it, beloved! But, we can do so knowing that He has told us the purpose for our trials is for our good, and for His glory!

1 Peter 4:12-13
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

1 Peter 1:6-9
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in Whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Habakkuk 3:17-19
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places.

We are to rejoice with our brothers and sisters in Christ when they rejoice, and mourn with them, when they mourn!

Romans 12:15
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

We are to rejoice because Jesus went back to His Father, and He will return for His church!

John 14:28
Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved Me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for My Father is greater than I.

Revelation 19:7
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.

We are to speak about and rejoice at His wondrous works!

Psalm 105:1-5
O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon His Name: make known His deeds among the people. Sing unto Him, sing psalms unto Him: talk ye of all His wondrous works. Glory ye in His holy Name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD, and His strength: seek His face evermore. Remember His marvellous works that He hath done; His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth.

Again, Paul tells the church they are to rejoice evermore, or always, to pray always, and to give thanks always!

1 Thessalonians 5:14-22
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Beloved โ€” Rejoice in the LORD! Sing praises to His Name!

Psalm 98:4-9
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King. Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together Before the LORD; for He cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall He judge the world, and the people with equity.

We can rejoice at all times; in the midst of our trials, because like Jesus โ€” We look forward to the JOY set before us!

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the JOY that was set before HIM endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Choose to REJOICE in the LORD today!
