π WHY GRAMMAR SEEMS DIFFICULT?
I've been teaching English for 4+ years now and I've seen different kinds of students β kids, young people, adults, working professionals. Even though their goals and backgrounds are not similar, there is something that unites all of them. The dislike for grammar.
π€ Normally, people associate grammar with a set of boring difficult rules that we learn but can never use in real life. Does this sound like you?
The key to changing this attitude is to be focused on learning grammar that is not distant from the reality. Simply learning rules by heart won't get you anywhere and will only make you resent English.
β‘οΈ SOLUTION: LEARN GRAMMAR IN CONNECTION TO REAL SITUATIONS!
Never try to remember bare rules without their applications to real-life language. Look up context β where and how natives use these grammar structures. Try to notice grammar structures in movies or books. Build sentences with them. Note how other people use them. Make them really settle in your speech β€οΈ
The language is the reflection of modern life. Not out of touch with it.

π HOW I WASTED 7 MONTHS ON INEFFICIENT TEST PREPARATION
As you may know, I studied Master in Management in 2 prestigious business schools: Graduate School of Management and St. Gallen University (Switzerland). This is why I needed to take IELTS at the first place β to get into the business school of my dreams.
What allowed me to study in 2 b-schools simultaneously and receive a double diploma is the CEMS alliance. This is a very unique educational programme that connects the best business schools of the world β one from each country. However, to get into CEMS (and then graduate) students must prove they have at least B2 level of a third language at the end of their studies.
For me it was French π«π·
So, the test of business French was scheduled for October, 2020 and I started to seriously prepare in February. I signed up for general French classes in a local language school.
AND WASTED 7 MONTHS OF TIME!
Because it only occurred to me 1 week before the actual test that I should have better read business cases (like I showed you in the video above) to pick up business language, logic, style. I felt incredibly stupid! Who wouldn't?
How great it would be if I started preparing with a tutor who already knows all the ins and outs of the test, who has proven strategies of success! π€¦πΌββοΈ
So, I really want you not to repeat my mistakes. Honestly. Don't waste time on ineffective IELTS preparation. Don't waste money on retaking the test several times. Don't waste your life, energy and nerves. Make sure to ace it at the first attempt and enjoy the opportunities it opens right away β€οΈπ
