Old-school Bak Chor Mee is easy to find, but one that sells out in two hours? That’s rare. Sheng Cheng Bak Chor Mee is a Bukit Timah favorite with long queues, and regulars say you must go early. Luckily, I got mine just before they sold out.

The noodles were smooth but not a total slay. Still, if you love old-school flavors at a fair price, it’s worth the wait. The tender mushrooms and fresh fish paste in the fish balls were a nice touch—at least they weren’t just overpriced flour balls!
