The multitude of artful burial sites provides an insight into the religious consciousness from Baroque to Neoclassicism. The last burial took place on All Saints' Day in 1872.
👌Particularly fascinating is the tomb ("Sleeping Beauty") of Caroline Christine Walter, created by sculptor Anton Burghart. The lover of that young woman, having died of tuberculosis in 1867 at the age of 16, could not overcome this loss and decorated the tomb with fresh flowers every day. Many legends revolve around it, especially since the daily fresh flower decoration continues until today: A sign of immortal love?🌹
