Lots of conflicting news about the FIFA Blockchain today, here are the facts:

1) FIFA migrated its digital collectibles marketplace "FIFA Collect" to a new blockchain two days ago. That blockchain is called the "FIFA Blockchain" and is EVM-compatible. Today, it was announced that this FIFA Blockchain is based on Avalanche, but it is its own proprietary blockchain, so the collectibles are not on Avalanche's C-Chain.

2) Previously, FIFA Collect used Algorand as its blockchain. Algorand was a sponsor to the FIFA and was also its exclusive blockchain partner since 2022. That sponsorship has likely ended prior to the migration away from Algorand.

3) The FIFA Blockchain is currently used for FIFA Collect only. There have not been any announcements towards further web3 products. The rumoured FIFA Coin may or may not be on the FIFA Blockchain, the upcoming web3 game "FIFA Rivals" may be on a different blockchain as well.
