This is a valuable article by both of our guests today
We decided to organise an orthodontic study club about a year ago. Our primary motivation was pain. It was painful to watch patients coming for a second opinion: almost all of them were suffering from irrational treatment choices, unnecessary interventions, or sometimes bluntly harmful therapies. It was also painful to watch so-called continues education courses: almost all of them were promoting irrational treatment choices, unnecessary interventions, or bluntly harmful therapies.

Our primary goal with the study club is to create a healthy orthodontic landscape, not plagued with pseudo-professors, local gurus, and marginal sects, but one integrated into international evidence-based orthodontic community.

Hope to see you at our next meeting on May 17!

Sorry for the delay in Tuesday clinical pearls, here is one: add an additional wire inside the plastic body of your Hawley retainers for their durability. Don’t waste time on broken Hawley’s!
Happy Friday everyone!

A quick clinical pearl for Palatal/Lingual bonded retainers that will save you :

To get an ideal length of your retainer, you can place it on the labial surface of the teeth. One end is placed on the distal part of the first tooth, extend the retainer and cut it just over the mesial interproximal surface of the last tooth.
In this example. My bonded retainer when placed labially starts from the distal end of the UR 2 and ends just on the mesial end of UL 2.
The same rule applies when bonding 3-3 retainers.

Dr. David Sarver has a few words in anticipation of our upcoming event: http://wearemosg.ru/surgery
A great editorial by our past guest, Dr. Kandasamy, in the current issue of the AJO-DO. With my markings.
It was a great pleasure to host Dr. Charles S. Greene at our past study club meeting. Here is the recording of his lecture which he kindly allowed us to make public.

Dr. Greene is one of the most prominent evidence-based people in the area of TMJ, along with Jeffery P. Okeson, Donald J. Rinchuse, and Sanjivan Kandasamy.

Dear All, we decided to add a testimonials section on our website (http://wearemosg.ru). We ask all of you who have ever participated in our meetings to send us your feedback (in English or Russian) to mosg.ortho@outlook.com

In return we’ll give you an additional 20% discount for the next event (those who already sent us testimonials before, will also have this discount). The rumors are that our next guest will be a great Canadian orthodontist Dr. Sylvain Chamberland.
Thank you!!!
Here is a recommended reading for our meeting on May 17. (Ideally, you read the whole book, however it would be fine if you just read the chapter ‘Who Does What, When?’. At minimum, read my blog post about the book to the end!) https://orthodonticgrammar.com/2020/04/27/a-surgical-book-2/
