Watching another interview with Neil Oliver, I was moved to compare him with another Scottish commentator, Douglas Murray.

The crucial difference between these two men is that Oliver genuinely is baffled by what is going on. He is approaching the topic of the Marxist/progressive/globalist juggernaut as an innocent, trying to make sense of it intelligently and honestly. By contrast, Douglas Murray knows exactly what is going on and is assiduously preventing the general public from gaining the same knowledge.

What Oliver is realising, or feels in danger of realising, clearly disturbs him. He is visibly wrangling with his conscience every step of the way. Compare that with Murray's demeanour: faux outrage, affected bafflement, and "indignation" which somehow never rises above the calm and controlled, even when he is talking about the very death of Europe. The strange indignation of Douglas Murray, indeed.

The contrast between these two men is remarkable.

When Oliver says something naive, it's out of naivety. When Murray says something "naive", it isn't naivety; he is lying to his listeners, in order to keep them bamboozled.

When Oliver asks a question, he is actually asking a question. When Murray asks a question, he is doing so only in order to direct his audience away from the true answer - which he achieves either by immediately offering false answers or by affecting disgust or incredulity towards people who advocate the true answer. He is an absolute charlatan. That this man is held up as a public intellectual, a seeker after truth, is an indication of just how corrupted our society has become.

Douglas Murray is a truly verminous commentator and, presumably, person.

Neil Oliver is a man who lacks knowledge and understanding (for now) but is genuinely fighting, and with honour.

To be clear, I am not saying that Douglas Murray - or any other commentator - should be 100% honest and "reveal his power level". What I'm saying is that he shouldn't actively misguide people. It's one thing to stay silent on a topic, another to knowingly voice a false perspective on it.

"to direct his audience away from the true answer - which he achieves either by immediately offering false answers or by affecting disgust or incredulity towards people who advocate the true answer."

For example, in recent interviews he has been claiming that BLM etc. is happening because "we didn't truly learn the lesson about Communism". This in itself is bullshit, but, having insisted it is the case, he then affects bafflement as to WHY it is the case. So he obfuscates at three levels:

1. BLM is happening because we didn't truly learn the lesson about Communism (false, it's happening for other reasons)
2. We didn't truly learn the lesson about Communism (false)
3. Oh, why oh why didn't we truly learn the lesson about Communism...?! (inviting the audience to ponder this false proposition)

In other words, he admits there is a problem, but then immediately gets his audience tied in knots trying to figure the problem out. This is why I say he is a charlatan.

Animals can just sense evil.
The Yuri Bezmenov cope is becoming an addiction for the bugmen of Centrism. Why?

1) It specifies that the Culture War is targeting, not a particular race (Europeans), but "capitalism". Therefore it is politically-based, not racially-based. The Centrist can breathe a sigh of relief: this means he can delay (for a bit longer) acknowledging that Europeans exist as a group, that race matters, and that we're seeing a racial attack on Europeans.
The Bezmenov delusion supports the delusion which is so precious to the Centrist: race-blindness. I once made a video about how people sometimes believe one thing purely because it supports some other belief, which they covet. This is a perfect example of that. Centrist bugmen don't really care much about Bezmenov's lessons about the decline of Western civilisation, because they don't actually care about the decline of Western civilisation - but being race-blind is absolutely crucial to them.

2) It casts capitalism as a victim. This simplifies everything for the Centrist: he can now devote his time to pretending that capitalism did nothing wrong and that the answer to our problems is yet more capitalism. It's a simplistic, dishonest and unpalatable position that will keep him neutered politically, because it will prevent him from engaging with the social questions of our age; meantime, the Left will continue doing exactly that, and winning.

3) It specifies that the subverter is a political force, not genetically or religiously defined. (HUGE sigh of relief!)

4) It revitalises Cold War notions of Russia as the big enemy. We have a lot of conceptual furniture in our culture ready to accommodate this idea, so it's actually a comforting idea, because it allows us to bring all that familiar old stuff out of storage. There is a nostalgia factor here. You might not enjoy that woke reboot of that 1980s sci-fi show, but you'll just love Cold War 2.0: When SJWs Attack.

5) It specifies that the subversion has been going on for about 20 years, which means that the 1990s becomes exactly the pre-subversion safe haven that the GenX/Millennial Centrist fondly wishes that decade was, since it was when they were young and also blessedly pre-political (because Centrist bugmen secretly loathe politics and really do wish that life was all about video-gaming).

6) It specifies that the conflict is political, thus allowing the nihilistic Centrist to again delay acknowledging that there is a spiritual realm and not everything is about molecules and money.

If the glasses in They Live actually made whatever bleak war-torn dilapidated post-Kalergi hellscape you gazed upon look instead like a fairytale landscape of rainbows and unicorns and gleaming new McDonald's outlets and laughing mixed-race couples, they would effectively be doing what the Yuri Bezmenov cope does for Centrists.
We have reached a situation wherein:

libertarians, who are supposed to care about personal liberty, are absolutely fine with it being curtailed by corporations

leftists, who are supposed to despise huge corporations and laud the little man, are absolutely fine with huge corporations oppressing the little man

conservatives, who are supposed to conserve, not only fail to conserve anything but even openly admit that they can't see anything worth conserving
