🔴 Coronavirus & Lockdown Survival Tips 🔴

📒 Comprehensive advice to get you through this challenging yet self building period 📒

Drink a mixture of water+honey with 1 Jamé pill. It should dissolve gradually and not be chewed.
Dosage: once a week for children and twice a week for adults. (جامع رضوی)
(Regarding the Jame pill, 🌹Imam Jawad (a.s.) asked his companion why they do not keep it in their houses since it is famous among the followers of Ahlulbayt a.s.)

Consume Imam Kazim a.s.'s winter immune system medicine (داروی امام کاظم ). Dosage: half a teaspoon once a week or once in 10 days. Hold in the mouth for 20 minutes before swallowing then do not eat anything for 2 hours after taking.

Grind 1 unit of black seed then immediately mix it with 3 units of honey.
Dosage: Adults, one teaspoon every night. If already sick or over 60, you can have one teaspoon every 12 hrs.
Children, half a teaspoon every night. If already sick, half teaspoon every 12 hrs.

Avoid cold-natured foods such as yogurt, tomatoes, chicken, fish, citrus, etc. (www.tabeab.com for further details on this).

Have some jaggery sugar at night.

Eat some raw local onion on an empty stomach and nothing for 5 minutes after from time to time. Also incorporate them into your diet as local onions build resistance to the pathogens in your environment.

Keep immune system strong.

Recite ziarate ashura and dua 7 of sahifa sajjadiya everyday.

Increase recitation of Quran and try to understand it more as this is more important than ever right now.

Invoke the Imam of our time atf using dua faraj and other means.

Realise that the months of Rajab, Sha'ban & Ramadhan are the best months that we could have been confined in so view this as an excellent opportunity and make the most of it! You can spend this time perfecting your salah (as it is the foundation for everything), engaging in supplications, self reflection as well as planning your spiritual and worldly goals before it is time to return to the daily grind.

Take out sadaqah regularly

Try to be in wudhoo as much as possible.

Burn ispandh morning and night.

2 drops banafsheh oil or extra virgin olive oil into each nostril at night before sleeping.

Ensure to get proper sleep, away from devices, gadgets and wifi, especially between the most important hours of 10/11pm-3am as this is vital for building, restoring and maintaining the immune system.

Try to get fresh air and go out in the sun whenever possible.

Do some exercise.

Follow a correct healthy diet. Visit www.tabeab.com for more detailed information on this (or check previous articles on this channel).

Maintain a positive mental attitude (PMA) and try not to succumb to any unnecessary fearmongering as this suppresses the immune system.

Be sure to do things you enjoy and find relaxing during this stressful period in order to increase happy chemicals such as endorphins because this has a positive effect on the immune system.

Try to become more self-sufficient in terms of growing or producing your own food. This can be foods such as fruits & vegetables, eggs, honey etc.

Keep to a routine, wake and sleep at set times everyday and plan your days.

Make the most of this (perhaps once in a lifetime) opportunity to spend unpressurized quality time with loved ones and catch up on things you don't normally get round to doing such as reading, DIY, painting / other creative tasks, gardening, planning / organising your life etc.

🔶 The remedies mentioned above have no side effects and they are particularly beneficial for people living in cities and towns who are more vulnerable.

💊Are pain killers recommended in Islamic medicine?

"It is quoted that Ibn Abi Yafour referred to Imam Al-Sadiq (a.s.) saying that he gets stomach aches and when he drinks a sip of raisin wine his pain goes.
Imam told him not to drink wine.
He went back from Medina to Kufa and he got stomach ache again. His family offered him some wine and when his pain increased, he drank some and his pain settled.
He went to Imam again and told him the story.
Imam replied: "O' Ibn Abi Yafoor, stop it, that is Haraam. Your pain is caused by Shaytan (microbes or bacteria) which is disturbing you. If it disappoints it shall go."
When he went back to Kufa, his pain started even more sever. His family offered him wine but he sworn not to touch it.
He tolerated the pain for a few days and he got cured and he never got the pain again till the end of his life."

💡Ayatullah Tabrizian:
Those who are used to pain killers should note that if beside treating themselves they are patient over pains that is better for them.

💡Belief in treatment :

One day a man visited the holy prophet and asked him for a remedy for his brother who was suffering from diarrhea.

The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) told him to give his brother honey.

He did that and his brother's diarrhea got worse!

He visited the holy prophet again and told him that honey made him feel worse.

The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) said:
صدق الله و کذب بطن اخیک. اسقیه عسلا
"Allah says the truth and your brother's tummy is lying. Go and give him honey."

He went back and fed his brother more honey. This time his brother got cured.

Note: In the time of Holy Prophet it was believed that honey is a laxative.
Therefore, believing that honey is a laxative and won't cure him made it ineffective the first time.
The level of belief we have in our medication, our health and our food can make us sick or healthy.

Having belief in Islamic medicine and the words of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) is an essential element of treatment.

🌹2 lessons from the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.H):

✔️Should we try to cure ourselves or just pray?

Jabir ibn Abdullah quotes that:
The Holy Prophet was asked if people should treat themselves (or simply leave themselves to be healed by God).
He said:
نعم تداووا، فان الله تبارك وتعالى لم ينزل داء إلا وقد أنزل له دواء، عليكم بألبان البقر فإنها ترم من كل الشجر
"Yes do treat yourselves, indeed Allah(s.w) has not sent down any disease but that he has sent down its cure."

Note: Some people and companions and even some of God's messengers were believing that they should not treat themselves but that God should heal them if he wishes.
However, the Holy Prophet said that treatment is a part of God's mercy and he provides healing when we do our part to treat diseases.

Lesson 2:
Which cow's milk?

The rest of the Hadith says:
"Use cow's milk for your treatments since a cow eats from all types of trees and grass (and therefore it can be useful for different disease)."

However, milk from cows that are confined in barns, fed only hay and alfalfa and they are on a specific diet are not as beneficial as milk from a free range cow.
Also, other Ahadith emphasize that the best type of cow's milk to drink should come from red or black cows (not the white genetically modified cows like Holstein breeds).

✔️Beneficial Diseases

According to Islamic medicine there are some diseases that are beneficial and they are not supposed to be treated since they are a protection from more dangerous diseases.

🌹The Holy Prophet (pbuh):
Do not feel bad about 4 things as they are (beneficial) for 4 things:

🔹 Do not feel bad about getting a cold as it is the protection from leprosy (and other genetic diseases).
🔹 And do not feel bad about getting blisters and pimples as they are a protection from vitiligo.
🔸 And do not feel bad about swollen eyes as this is the protection from becoming blind.
🔸 And do not feel bad about coughing as it is the protection from paralysis (and strokes).

📚 Al-Khisal, page 210

Note:
Trying to treat the mentioned diseases can be harmful for the body. The Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) used to become happy when someone in their family was afflicted by any of these diseases because they knew they were beneficial.
People taking medication for their coughs these days is a reason why strokes have increased. Coughing that is caused by a heart disorder should not be cured whilst coughs caused by weak lungs should be cured.

💠 *Tips About Fasting in Ramadan:*
🔹 Part 1

In this month eating sohoor or sahari is a MUST.
To prevent feeling hungry during the day, eat Sawiq and dates
To prevent getting thirsty, eat dates and water at sohoor
The holy Prophet (pbuh) said, the best of foods for sohoor are dates and Sawiq.
Sawiq of barely is recommended to those who have diabetes and those who want to lose weight.
Sawiq of wheat is good for those who want to gain weight.

Do not eat heavy foods in your sohoor meal
Avoid eating meaty and fatty foods in your sohoor meal

🔹 Note that sohoor is eqivalent to breakfast and Iftaar is equivalent to supper, so avoid eating a heavy meal at sohur. Fatty meals at sohoor make you feel thirsty during the day.
🔹 At Iftaar, if you eat fatty and meaty meals, avoid drinking water immediately after your food.

🔹For your bread, eat whole-wheat Naan rather than oil based breads or breads without yeast that have not risen, like chapati.
🔹Warm milk , dates, Sawiq and honey with bread are good options.

👉🏽 Drinking a cup of water with soaked chia seeds or basil before sleeping at night, helps you not to get thirsty during the day. You can add a tablespoon of honey into the juice as well.

In Islamic sources one of the worst times for sleeping is between Fajr and sunrise. So try to be awake after Fajr and recite Quran untill the sunrise since sleeping at this time increases the toxins and waste humors in the body.
COMPLETELY Avoid having cold water, cold milk, black tea, coffee, yoghurt, watermelon, fish in your sohoor meal.
🔺 If you drink warm milk , avoid eating fruits with it except dates or almonds.

👉🏽 To prevent bad breath and if you want your mouth to smell good during the day, eat an apple at sohoor or before sleeping at night and avoid sleeping immediately after sohoor.
Also eating fresh basil for sohur makes the mouth fresh.

🍜Eating a lot does not guarantee that you won't feel hungry or thirsty during the day, but sometimes a simple meal of bread, warm milk and dates can give you enough energy for the whole day. Also, the purpose of fasting is not just to starve, but to improve our soul and to help us get closer to our Lord, as Hadith says, "The best time when a person is close to his Lord is when he is hungry or when in sujud".

May Allah give us tawfiq to get the most benefits from this blessed month 🤲.

Tips About Fasting in Ramadan

🔹Part 2

🔺 Avoid over-eating at sohur and Iftaar.
Remember the Hadith says, "Eat when you are hungry and stop eating whilst you still have an appetite".
Studies show that it takes 20 minutes for the brain to register that the stomach is full. Unfortunately we eat and eat until we feel physically full, so according to the research, by the time the brain registers, we are actually well past being full.
Over eating prevents spiritual growth and it weakens the stomach.

🔺Do not eat different types of foods together at sohoor and Iftaar. First eat or drink the foods that are easier for digestion then have the heavier ones later with some gap between both.

🔺Drink liquids before or a short while after your meal, not between your meal or immediately after it. Gastritis, constipation, colon issues and fatty liver are all because of drinking water with food.

🔺 Drink a warm cup of water with dates to start your Iftaar. Cold water damages the liver especially first thing after breaking the fast.

You may say: "Why so many rules for eating?".
The answer is very simple, we say that by fasting, so many good things happen to the body. Fasting helps you to lose weight, helps the people who suffer from diabetes, improves the stomach and liver, etc.
However, after Ramadan people see that they have not lost weight and everything is the same as before. This is because these simple tips are not followed and therefore fasting will not benefit us as much as it should and can.

Let us follow these simple tips so that both our body and our soul can benefit from this blessed month! 💫💫💫💫💫💫💫

👉🏼 Fasting for children in Islam:

🌹Imam Al-Baqir (a.s.):

"We (Ahlul Bayt) make our boys fast as much as they can at the age of 7. However, you (people) make your boys fast when they are aged 9. They should do as much as they can tolerate, then when they feel so thirsty they can open their fast."

🔹Color of Shoes in Islamic Sources:

💠 Hannan Bin Sudair the companion of Imam Sadiq (a.s) says,
"Once I met Imam when I had worn black shoes. Imam asked me",
"O Hannan, how come you are dealing with black color? Don't you know that there are 3 disadvantages of wearing black? It weakens the eyes, weakens men's reproductive organs and it causes depression. It is also from the clothes of the transgressors"
I asked him: "Then what color shoes should I wear?"
Imam replied: "You better go for yellow color as it has three benefits, it improves the vision, strengthens the reproductive organs, removes depression, and it is also the (color of) the prophets' clothes".

💠  RAMADHAN Diet Guidelines:

In view of the long fasting hours, we should consume slow-digesting foods instead of fast-digesting foods during Ramadhan.
Slow digesting foods keep our energy levels sustained for up to 8 hours, while fast-digesting foods do so for only 3 to 4 hours.

One group of slow-digesting foods are higher in fiber, which allows for slower energy release. These are foods such as barley, wheat, oats, millet, semolina, wholemeal flour, unpolished rice, beans, lentils, etc. (These are called complex carbohydrates).

Another group of slow-digesting foods are those high in protein. These allow us to feel satisfied for longer and consist of foods such as nuts, seeds, eggs, beans, quality meat, fish, etc.

Fast-digesting foods are those that contain sugar, refined and white flour, etc. (These are called simple or refined carbohydrates).

Fried foods are very unhealthy and should be limited. They cause indigestion, heartburn, and weight problems.

AVOID:
🔸    Fried and fatty foods
🔸    Foods containing too much sugar
🔸    Over-eating especially at suhoor
🔸    Too much tea at suhoor. Tea makes you pass more urine, taking with it valuable mineral salts that the body would need during the day and causing dehydration.

EAT:
🔸   Complex carbohydrates at suhoor to sustain energy levels for longer and feel less hungry during the day.
🔸   Haleem is an excellent source of energy, protein and is a slow-burning food.
🔸   Dates are an excellent source of energy, fiber, carbohydrates, potassium and magnesium (minerals responsible for helping us to relieve stress and relax).
🔸   Almonds are rich in protein and fiber.
🔸    Bananas are a good source of potassium, magnesium and carbohydrates.

DRINK:
🔸    As much water or (fresh) fruit juices as possible between iftar and bedtime so that the body may replenish fluid levels in this time.

🌹 CONSTIPATION
Constipation can cause piles (hemorrhoids), fissures (painful cracks in the anal canal) and indigestion with a bloated feeling.
Causes: Too much refined food, too little water and not enough fiber in the diet.
Remedy: Avoid eating refined foods in excess, increase water intake, use bran in baking and use wholemeal flour when making 'roti' and other breads. Soaked figs, prunes, apple juice, 'khak-shir' (mugwort seeds), chia seed drink and Sekanjebin are good options as well.

🌹 INDIGESTION AND WIND
Causes: Over-eating. Too much fried and fatty foods, spicy foods, and foods that produce wind (e.g. eggs, cabbage, lentils and carbonated drinks like Cola).
Remedy: Do not over-eat; drink (fresh) fruit juices or, better still, drink water.
Avoid fried foods; add ajmor to wind-producing foods.

🌹 HEADACHE
Causes: Dehydration, caffeine and tobacco-withdrawal, doing too much in one day, lack of sleep and hunger (which usually occurs as the day progresses and gets worse towards the end of the day).
Remedy: Checking and increasing fluid intake is usually the first thing to address for headaches (beverages such as fresh fruit & vegetable juices, chia / basil seed drink can help sustain hydration levels for longer). If this does not remedy the issue enough, then the cure would vary depending on which part of the head feels painful.
