Constitution bench for Article 370
A five-judge Bench led by Justice N.V. Ramana is learnt to have been formed to start hearing from October 1 petitions challenging the Centre's move render Article 370 inoperative that stripped Jammu and Kashmir people of their special privileges, which led to the bifurcation of the State to two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

India’s second scorpene-class submarine
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on 28 September 2019 commissioned the indigenously-built second scorpene-class submarine INS Khanderi into the Indian Navy. The INS Khanderi is the second Kalvari-class diesel-electric submarine after INS Kalvari.

ICGS Varaha
The Coast Guard ship 'Varaha' launched by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Chennai was the 51st such vessel built by Larsen and Toubro. Larsen and Toubro Shipyard Ltd had been mandated by the Ministry of Defence for design and construction of seven offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) in 2014.
