Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant, and he got it. His salary was really good and so were the working conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.His boss gave him an Axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to fell the trees.
روزگاران قدیم،چوب بر نیرومندی بود نزد یک تاجر چوب تقاضای کارکرد و استخدام شد.دستمزدش خیلی خوب بود و بنابراین شرایط کاری خوبی داشت.به همان دلیل،چوب بر اراده داشت به بهترین نحو،کارش را انجام دهد. اربابش به او تبری ای داد و محدوده ای که باید درختان را قطع میکرد، به او نشان داد

The first day, the woodcutter brought fifteen (15) trees. “Congratulations,” the boss said, “Carry on with your work!”Highly motivated by the words of his boss, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he only could bring ten (10) trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he was only able to bring seven (7) trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less trees.
روز اول ،چوب بر پانزده درخت آورد.ارباب گفت:”تبریک میگویم،به کارت ادامه بده“
چوب بر که از حرف اربابش حسابی تشویق شده بود،روز بعد تلاش بیشتری کرد،اما توانست فقط ده درخت بیاورد.روز سوم،او بیشتر تلاش کرد اما توانست فقط هفت درخت بیاورد.یک روز پس از روز دیگر،او کمتر و کمتر درخت آورد

“I must be losing my strength.” The woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.
“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” The boss asked.
“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”
چوب بر فکر کرد:”من حتما قدرتم را از دست داده ام”.او نزد ارباب رفت و با گفتن اینکه او نمی تواند بفهمد چه اتفاقی افتاده بود،عذر خواهی کرد

Moral: Most of us never update our skills. We think that whatever we have learned is very much enough. But good is not good when better is expected. Sharpening our skills from time to time is the key to success.

Mummy Duck lived on a farm. In her nest, she had

five little eggs and one big egg. One day, the five little eggs started to crack. Tap, tap, tap! Five pretty, yellow baby ducklings came out.

Then the big egg started to crack. Bang, bang, bang! One big, ugly duckling came out. ‘That’s strange,’ thought Mummy Duck.

Nobody wanted to play with him. ‘Go away,’ said his brothers and sisters. ‘You’re ugly!’

The ugly duckling was sad. So he went to find some new friends.

‘Go away!’ said the sheep. ‘Go away!’ said the cow. ‘Go away!’ said the horse.

No one wanted to be his friend. It started to get cold. It started to snow! The ugly duckling found an empty barn and lived there. He was cold, sad and alone.

Then spring came. The ugly duckling left the barn and went back to the pond.

He was very thirsty and put his beak into the water. He saw a beautiful, white bird! ‘Wow!’ he said. ‘Who’s that?’

‘It’s you,’ said another beautiful, white bird.

‘Me? But I’m an ugly duckling.’

‘Not any more. You’re a beautiful swan, like me. Do you want to be my friend?’

‘Yes,’ he smiled.

All the other animals watched as the two swans flew away, friends forever.

🛑 جوجه اردک زشت🛑

اردکِ مادر در مزرعه ای زندگی می کرد.
در لانه اش پنج تخم کوچک و یک تخم بزرگ داشت.

یک روز، پنج تخم کوچک شروع به ترک خوردن کردند. ترق، ترق، ترق!

پنج جوجه اردک کوچولوی زرد و زیبا از آنها بیرون آمدند.
بعد تخم بزرگ شروع به ترک خوردن کرد. تلق، تلق، تلق!
جوجه اردک بزرگ زشتی از آن بیرون آمد.

هیچ کس نمی خواست با او دوست شود.
کم کم هوا سرد شد.
برف شروع به باریدن کرد.
جوجه اردک زشت انباری خالی پیدا کرد و آنجا ماند. سردش شده بود و غمگین و تنها بود.
سپس بهار از راه رسید.
جوجه اردک زشت از انبار بیرون رفت و به برکه برگشت.
خیلی تشنه بود و منقار خود را در آب فرو برد.
او پرنده ای زیبا و سفید بود!
او گفت: «وای! اون کیه؟»
پرنده سفید زیبای دیگری گفت: «اون تویی.»
«من؟ ولی من که یه جوجه اردک زشتم.»
«دیگه نیستی. تو هم مثل من یه قوی زیبا هستی.»
دوست داری با من دوست بشی؟»
او لبخندی زد و گفت: «آره.»
همه حیوانات دیگر آنها را که تا همیشه با هم دوست ماندند، در حال پرواز و دور شدن از آنجا تماشا کردند.

🅾 'A glass of milk'

🛑 One day, a poor boy who was selling goods door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dim left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal, he asked for a drink of water.
She thought he looked hungry, so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly and then asked: how much do I owe you? You don't owe me anything," she retorted. "Mother has thought us never to accept pay for a kindness."
He said, "Then I thank you from my heart." As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.
Years later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.
Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case.
After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval.
He looked at it, and then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all.
Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words:

"Paid full with one glass of milk" (Signed)
Dr. Howard Kelly

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank you, God that your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands....

🛑 روزی روزگاری پسر بچه ای فقیـر در امریکا زندگـی می کرد که برای رفتـن به مدرسـه، بـایـد چیزهایی را که همـراه داشت خانـه به خانه می فروخـت. یکی از روزهـا احساس گرسنگی شدیـــدی آزارش داد. تصمـیـم گـرفـت از خانـه ی بعـدی، یـک وعـده غـــذا درخواست کند. خانم جـوان و زیبایـی در را گشـود و پسـرک قصـه ی مـا فقـط یک لیـوان آب درخواسـت کـرد.
زن از چهـره ی پسرک گرسنگـی فراوان او را فهمید و به جای آب، یک لیوان بزرگ شیر به او داد. پسرک به آرامی شیـر را نوشیـد و پرسید: چقدر بابـت شیر به شما بپـردازم؟ خانـوم جوان گفت: هیچ ... مادرم به مـن آموخته است که در ازای مهربانی، چیـزی دریافت نکنم.
پسرک گفت: پس از صمیم قلب، از شما ممنونم.
آن روز پسـرک – با نام هـاوارد کلی - حالت عجیبـی داشت، نه تنهـا گرسنگـی اش بـرطرف شد، حـس کـرد خداونـد در قلب انسانـهاست هنوز ... آمـاده بود کـه هـر کاری انجام دهد ...
سالها گذشت و زن جـوان به بیماری سختی مبتلا گشت طوریکه پزشـکان آن شـهر کوچک از علاجش درماندنـد. او را به بیمارستان مرکزی شهربزرگتری فرستادند تا متخصصان دربـاره بیماری نادرش تصمیم گیـری کنند. متخصص هاوارد کلی را برای شرکت در جلسه پزشکـی احضار کردند. وی به محض اینکـه نام شهر کوچکـی را که زن از آنجا آمده بود شنیـد، جلسه را ترک کرد و به سرعت خود را به اتاق زن رسانـد و او را شناخت. شتابان بازگشت و خود را مسئول مداوای زن معرفی کرد و عهـد بست که تمام تلاش خود را برای درمان او انجام دهد.
بعد از تلاش های طاقت فرسا برای درمان بیماری زن، دکتر "کلی" از مسول اداری بیمارستان خواست که برگه مخـارج را ابتدا به او بدهنـد و بر گوشه آن چیزی نوشت.
هنگامی که زن برگه ی هزینه ها را دریافت میکرد، از آن میترسید که چگونه بقیه عمرش را کار کند تا آن همه مخـارج سنگین را بپردزد. با ناباوری توجـهش به گوشه کاغذ جلـب شد:

تمام هزینه تنها با یک لیـوان شیـر، پرداخـت شد.
امضا "دکتر هاوارد کلـی"

قطرات اشک چـون سیل بر گونـه ی زن سرازیـر شدند و او در دلش دعـا میکرد: خدایا، از تو ممنونـم که محبتـت به وسعت قلب و دست های انسان هاست...

🅾 The Tortoise and the Hare

A speedy hare lived in the woods. She was always bragging to the other animals about how fast she could run.
The animals grew tired of listening to the hare. So one day, the tortoise walked slowly up to her and challenged her to a race. The hare howled with laughter.
“Race you? I can run circles around you!” the hare said. But the tortoise didn’t budge. “OK, Tortoise. You want a race? You’ve got it! This will be a piece of cake.” The animals gathered to watch the big race.
A whistle blew, and they were off. The hare sprinted down the road while the tortoise crawled away from the starting line.
The hare ran for a while and looked back. She could barely see the tortoise on the path behind her. Certain she’d win the race, the hare decided to rest under a shady tree.
The tortoise came plodding down the road at his usual slow pace. He saw the hare, who had fallen asleep against a tree trunk. The tortoise crawled right on by.
The hare woke up and stretched her legs. She looked down the path and saw no sign of the tortoise. “I might as well go win this race,” she thought.
As the hare rounded the last curve, she was shocked by what she saw. The tortoise was crossing the finish line! The tortoise had won the race!
The confused hare crossed the finish line. “Wow, Tortoise,” the hare said, “I really thought there was no way you could beat me.” The tortoise smiled. “I know. That’s why I won.”

🅾 لاک‌پشت و خرگوش 🅾

خرگوشی چابک در جنگل زندگی می‌کرد. او همیشه درباره سرعت دویدنش برای حیوانات دیگر لاف می‌زد.
حیوانات از گوش دادن به حرف‌های خرگوش خسته شده بودند. به همین خاطر روزی از روزها لاک‌پشت آرام‌آرام پیش او رفت و او را به مسابقه دعوت کرد. خرگوش با خنده‌ای فریاد زد.
خرگوش گفت: «با تو مسابقه بدم؟ من تو رو به‌راحتی می‌برم!» اما نظر لاک‌پشت عوض نشد. «باشه لاک‌پشته. پس تو می خوای مسابقه بدی؟ باشه قبوله. این واسه من مثه آب خوردنه.» حیوانات برای تماشای مسابقه بزرگ جمع شدند.
سوتی زدند و آن‌ها مسابقه را شروع کردند. خرگوش مسیر را با حداکثر سرعت می‌دوید درحالی‌که لاک‌پشت به‌کندی از خط شروع مسابقه دور می‌شد.
خرگوش مدتی دوید و به عقب نگاه کرد. او دیگر نمی‌توانست لاک‌پشت را پشت سرش در مسیر ببیند. خرگوش که از برنده شدن خود مطمئن بود تصمیم گرفت در سایه‌ی یک درخت کمی استراحت کند.
لاک‌پشت با سرعت همیشگی‌اش آهسته‌آهسته از راه رسید. او خرگوش را دید که کنار تنه‌ی درختی به خواب رفته است. لاک‌پشت درست از کنارش رد شد.
خرگوش از خواب بیدار شد و پاهایش را کش‌وقوسی داد. مسیر را نگاه کرد و اثری از لاک‌پشت ندید. با خودش فکر کرد «من باید برم و این مسابقه رو هم برنده بشم.»
وقتی خرگوش آخرین پیچ را رد کرد، ازآنچه می‌دید تعجب کرد. لاک‌پشت داشت از خط پایان رد می‌شد! لاک‌پشت مسابقه را برد!
خرگوش سردرگم از خط پایان رد شد. خرگوش گفت: «وای لاک‌پشته، من واقعاً فکر نمی‌کردم تو بتونی منو ببری.» لاک‌پشت لبخندی زد و گفت: «می دونم. واسه همین بود که من برنده شدم.
