Within the plan of activities for promotion of International Balkan University for the academic year 2022/2023, senior students from the High School "Zef Lush Marku" in Skopje visited the IBU Campus on Thursday, 5th May 2022. They were welcomed by Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shener Bilalli. Along with a campus tour, faculties and departments, enrolment criteria and advantages of the educational system of IBU were presented to the prospective students.
INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES FOR IBU VOCATIONAL MEDICAL SCHOOL STUDENTS AT ACIBADEM SISTINA HOSPITAL 🏥👩⚕️🩺⚕️
Nesrin Emurlai, a student at the International Balkan University, this week is conducting her internship at the Acibadem Sistina Hospital in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics under the mentorship of Dr. Snezana Timceva-Cvetkovska, gynecologist obstetrician.
"I am very satisfied with my practice, the treatment offered to patients here is at a high level and that is why I am very happy to have the opportunity to conduct my practice here. The nurses and doctors in this department explain very well and here I got acquainted with the basics that I will need as a future midwife," says Nesrin.

The Director of the National Agency for European Educational Programmes and Mobility, Mr. Marko Gjorgievski, accompanied by the Head of the Mobility Department in the field of higher education, adult and youth education, Mr. Aleksandar Bogojevski visited the International Balkan University on the 12th May 2022.
The delegation from the National Agency was welcomed by the Rector of IBU, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dursun Erdem with whom they shared experiences and ideas on strengthening the cooperation between IBU and NA, widening the international cooperation within the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme and other EU educational programs, organizing joint activities and events.
Director Gjorgjievski also attended the International Staff Week organized by the International Relations Office, which is attended by 53 academic and administrative staff from 31 universities and 6 countries.

↘️FIELD VISIT OF THE BASIC CIVIL COURT IN SKOPJE BY THE LAW STUDENTS ⚖️👩🏼⚖️
Students of the Faculty of Law from the legal studies department guided by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nikola Dacev visited the First Instance Civil Court in Skopje on 16th of May 2022. During the visit, the law students had the opportunity to learn about the activities and manner of work of the Civil Court and to attend court hearings in the field of civil relations with Judge Jehona Sadiku.
On the attended trials, the students were able to see the work of the judge, the role of the attorneys and their skills for verbal reasoning, rhetoric, presentation of facts and allegations. The students learned about the types of civil disputes the First Instance Civil Court is competent for, precisely the cases for compensation of damages. During the hearings, the students had the opportunity to get acquainted with all the phases of the civil litigation procedure, the pre-trial hearing, the evidence procedure, the main hearing, the closing arguments of the parties, etc. They had the opportunity to see the types of evidence used in the proceedings and the manner in which they were presented and argued. The judge also presented some of the laws that are used in the cases initiated in the civil court, especially pointing out the law on litigation procedure as the basic law according to which the judges in the civil court work.
Upon completion of the court hearings, the students expressed great satisfaction by the gained experience and knowledge and showed an interest in attending court hearings more frequently and familiarizing themselves with the practical aspects of the studied courses.

On 20.05.2022 at the Faculty of Law a guest lecture entitled: “Rethinking Integration and Transnationalism: A Typological Paradigm of EU-Western Balkans Migration System" was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eda Gemi, Head of the Law Department at the University of New York Tirana.
In her open lecture, Assoc. Prof. Eda Gemi identified the patterns of interaction between integration and transnationalism and how they have shaped the dynamics of migration trajectories of migrants in the Western Balkans. Her typological paradigm of EU-Western Balkans migration system revolved around the history of the region, the historical and cultural linkages between the country of origin and the country of destination, the pre-existence of migration networks and selective migration policies applied by EU receiving countries.
