* В Англии ‘the garage’ может быть ‘собственный гараж’ и может быть ‘автосервис’. Но собственный гараж всегда часть дома, либо рядом с домом. Поэтому когда мы говорим take the car to the garage все понимают, что имеется в виду а автосервис.

** to change the tyres = я сам и поменяю. to get\have the tyres changed = кто-то их поменят для меня.

Я очень долго боялся 🙀 говорить про эту тему. Я смотрел видео про неё на YouTube. Читал статьи. Везде говорят про fall–rise, rise–fall, rise–fall–rise и т.д.

Но мне всегда казалось, что не в этом главная особенность английской интонации. Тем более, когда русско-говорящие стараются использовать rise–fall, все равно звучит неестественно.

Но, наконец-то, я вроде понял почему так (не) получается! Наслаждайтесь уроком и поделитесь своими впечатлениями. 🙏

'It's true' с русской интонацией звучит угрожающе 😳

На английском, также как на русском, голос обычно уходит вниз в конце предложения. Когда ударный слог не конечный, все нормально. Безударные слоги произносятся ниже.

Сходили в теа⬇️тр
We went to the thea⬇️tre

Мы на площад⬇️ке
We're at the play⬇️ground

Но если последний слог - ударный - на русском весь слог обычно произносится ниже.

Сходили на ⬇️пляж
Сходили в ⬇️лес
Пойдем во ⬇️двор

Но на английском, голос уходит вниз только во второй половине ударного слога.

We went to the bee⬇️eech
We went to the woo⬇️oods
Let's go to the ya⬇️ard

Соответственно, мы не говорим it's ⬇️true. Мы говорим it's tru⬇️ue.

It's ⬇️true звучит угрожающе потому что низкий ударные слоги часто используются когда сильно злимся. Так что будьте осторожны, чтобы не пугать людей!

🤯 В этом никакой логики нет!

Когда речь идет о торте, слово cake безударное.

CArrot cake
CHOcolate cake
CHEESEcake

Но если речь идет о пироге, слово pie ударное!

Apple PIE
BErry PIE
MEAT and poTAto PIE

oil и juice– безударные

SUNflower oil
Olive oil
LINseed oil

Apple juice
Orange juice
ToMAto juice

но jam и sauce - ударные

STRAWberry JAM
RASPberry JAM

Тест по аббревиатурам с интонацией в придачу 😉

На русском последний звук в аббревиатурах обычно произносится ниже, особенно в конце предложения.

На английском последний звук затянутый. Первая часть звука произносится на таком же высоте как предыдущий звук, и голос падает только во второй части.

Разница очень ярко слышно когда мы произносим аббревиатуры. У Тани отлично получилось!
