Fae: Help! I still need to buy a gift for my mother and I can't seem to think of the perfect present, something that'll really knock her socks off.
Pablo: Why don't you just get her a gift certificate or a gift card? That way, she can pick out her own gift.
Fae: Oh, she would hate that. She would think that I didn't put any thought into buying her a present at all, while I've been racking my brain to think of something she'll like. Maybe I should buy her a car!
Pablo: Now, don't get carried away. You get like this every year. I know you want to please your mother, but remember, it's the thought that counts.
Fae: I wish that were true. If I get her the wrong gift, I'm afraid she'll be diasappointed, or worse, she'll hold it against me for the rest of my life.
Pablo: it boggles my mind how you can work yourself up like this every year.
Fae: How can I not? You know my mother.
Pablo: Yes, I do. And I have one piece of advice for you: buy her a gift she can return.

Andre: Mom, I can't believe I got stuck with Matt as my lab partner in school.
Josephine: Matt?? Do I know her?
Andre: He lives down the street. He's Mr. And Mrs. Kemp's son. He is a total airhead.
Josephine: Oh, I remember him. He was at your birthday party.
Andre: Yeah, when I was nine years old! That guy is so dense!
Josephine: Matt was always considered a gifted child. He seemed bright and perceptive, and his parents thought he'd go far.
Andre: If you ask me, he's not all there. Every time I look over at him in class, he's staring off into space. He doesn't seem like the kind who's very quick on the uptake.
Josephine: You know, some very smart people can seem spacey to the rest of us. Maybe he's just thinking when he stares off into space.
Andre: Maybe. All I know is that my science grade is riding on how we do in the lab, so I hope he shapes up.
Josephine: I'm sure he will. And even if he doesn't, you're clever enough to still do well in the class.

Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant, and he got it. His salary was really good and so were the working conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an Axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to fell the trees.
The first day, the woodcutter brought fifteen trees. “Congratulations,” the boss said, “ Carry on with your work!”. Highly motivated by the words of his boss, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he only could bring ten trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he was only able to bring seven trees.
Day after day he was bringing less and less trees “I must be losing my strength.” The woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on “When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” The boss asked “Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe, I have been very busy trying to cut trees” The woodcutter replied.
Moral: Most of us never update our skills. We think that whatever we have learned is very much enough. But well, is not good when better is expected. Sharpening our skills from time to time is the key to success.

⛏ هیزم‌شکن
روزی روزگاری، هیزم‌شکن نیرومندی نزد یک تاجر چوب رفت و تقاضای کار کرد و استخدام شد. دستمزدش خیلی خوب بود و بنابراین شرایط کاری خوبی داشت. به همین دلیل، هیزم‌شکن مصمم بود به بهترین نحو کارش را انجام دهد. رئیسش به او تبری داد و محدوده ای که باید درختان را قطع میکرد را به او نشان داد.
روز اول، هیزم‌شکن پانزده درخت آورد. رئیس گفت: «تبریک میگم، به کارت ادامه بده» هیزم‌شکن که از حرف رئیسش حسابی تشویق شده بود، روز بعد تلاش بیشتری کرد اما توانست فقط ده درخت بیاورد. روز سوم او بیشتر تلاش کرد اما توانست فقط هفت درخت بیاورد.
یک روز پس از روز دیگر، او کمتر و کمتر درخت آورد. هیزم‌شکن فکر کرد: «من حتما قدرتمو از دست دادم». او نزد رئیس رفت و با گفتن اینکه او نمی تواند بفهمد چه اتفاقی افتاده، عذر خواهی کرد. رئیس پرسید: «آخرین باری که تبرت رو تیز کردی،کِی بود؟»، هیزم‌شکن جواب داد: «تیز؟! من وقتی برای تیز کر دن تبرم نداشتم، من سخت مشغول قطع کردن درختان بودم».
نکته اخلاقی: بیشتر ما توانایی مان را به روز نمی کنیم. فکر می کنیم آنچه یاد گرفتیم بسیار کافی است. اما خُب، وقتی انتظار بهتری داشته باشیم خوب نیست. تیز کردن لحظه به لحظه مهارتهایمان، کلید موفقیت ماست.

There was a man who asked God for a flower and a butterfly. But instead God gave him a cactus and a caterpillar. The man was sad. he didn't understand why his request was mistaken. then he thought : oh well, God has too many people to care for; and decided not to question.
After sometime, man went to check up on his request that had left forgotten. to his surprise, from the thorny and ugly cactus a beautiful flower had grown and the unsightly caterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.
God always does things right. his way is always the best way, even if to us it seem all wrong. if you asked God for one thing and receive another, trust. you can be sure that He will always give you what you need at the appropriate time.
What you want, is not always what you need! God never fails to grant our petitions, so keep on going for Him without doubting or murmuring. God gives the very best to those who leave the choices up to him.

💚 خدا
روزی مردی از خدا دو چیز درخواست نمود: یک گل و یک پروانه، امّا چیزی که خدا در عوض به او بخشید، یک کاکتوس و یک کرم بود. مرد غمگین شد. او نمی توانست درک کند که چرا درخواستش به درستی اجابت نشده. با خود اندیشید: خب، خدا بندگان زیادی دارد که باید به همه ی آنها توجّه کند و مراقبشان باشد و تصمیم گرفت که دیگر در این باره سوالی نپرسد.
بعد از مدتی مرد تصمیم گرفت به سراغ همان چیزهایی برود که از خدا خواسته و حالا به کلی فراموش شان کرده بود. در کمال ناباوری مشاهده کرد که از آن کاکتوس زشت و پر از خاک گلی بسیار زیبا روئیده است و آن کرم زشت به پروانه ای زیبا تبدیل شده است.
خدا همیشه کارها را به بهترین نحو انجام می دهد. راه خدا همواره بهترین راه است، اگر چه به نظر ما غلط بیاید. اگر از خدا چیزی خواستید و چیز دیگری دریافت کردید، به او اعتماد کنید. مطمئن باشید آنچه را که نیاز دارید، همواره در مناسب ترین زمان به شما می بخشد.
آنچه می خواهید، همیشه آن چیزی نیست که نیاز دارید! خدا هیچگاه به درخواست های ما بی توجّهی نمی کند، پس بدون هیچ شک و تردید یا گله و شکایتی به او روی آورید. خداوند بهترین چیز ها را به کسانی می بخشد که انتخاب ها را به خودش واگذار می کنند.
