🛢️ Імпортувати товари першої необхідності, такі як гуманітарна допомога, продукти харчування, корми для тварин, добрива та паливо

The Ukrainian flag symbolises the most common national landscape: a yellow field of grain under a blue sky. 🇺🇦

Russia is now using this grain to wield power.

There are 20 million tons of wheat stuck in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s blockading of ships exporting wheat and sunflower seeds.
In response, we are opening Solidarity Lanes to:

🚛 make available loading equipment, train wagons, barges, lorries, and vessels as a matter of urgency
🛃 increase inspection capacity at border posts
🌾 prioritise Ukrainian agricultural exports along our busy freight corridors
🛢️ import essential goods such as humanitarian aid, food, animal feed, fertilisers, and fuel
🚄 Improve EU-Ukraine connectivity through infrastructure

By reducing bottle necks and improving EU-Ukraine connectivity, we can help Ukraine export its agricultural produce and overcome the threat to global food security.

🎥 Минулої суботи 75-й Каннський кінофестиваль завершився перемогою «Трикутника печалі» Рубена Остлунда, який виграв «Золоту пальмову гілку».

🔆 Але це не єдиний важливй момент заходу, оскільки Європейська комісія співпрацювала з організаторами, щоб забезпечити українську присутність на фестивалі, покривши витрати на проїзд та проживання для українських професіоналів.

🎥 Last Saturday, the 75th Cannes Film Festival culminated in Ruben Ostlund’s "Triangle of Sadness" winning the Palme d'Or.

🔆 But this wasn’t the event’s only highlight, as the European Commission cooperated with the organisers to ensure the Ukrainian presence at the festival by covering the travel and accommodation expenses for Ukrainian professionals.

🎈 In addition to Ukraine in Focus, a day-long programme created to support and popularise Ukraine’s film industry, three Ukrainian films held their world premieres in Cannes.

This includes Maksim Nakonechnyi’s Butterfly Vision (Un Certain Regard) and Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk’s Pamfir (Director’s Fortnight).

✊ In times like these, it is vital that we support filmmaking in the war-torn country and provide Ukrainian film industry professionals with opportunities to continue their work.

⚡️ The European Commission welcomes the European Council's agreement tonight on oil sanctions against Russia.

🛢This will effectively cut around 90% of oil imports from Russia to the EU by the end of the year.

Additionally, the sanctions package includes:

1️⃣ de-Swifting the largest Russian bank Sberbank
2️⃣ banning 3 more Russian state-owned broadcasters
3️⃣ banning insurance and re-insurance of Russian ships by EU companies
4️⃣ sanctioning individuals responsible for war crimes in Ukraine

The EUCO has also supported the proposal to grant Ukraine 9 billion euros aimed at the country's future reconstruction.

🛢Это позволит к концу года существенно сократить около 90% импорта нефти из России в ЕС.

Кроме ограничений на импорт нефти, шестой пакет санкций включает в себя:

🔹запрет ещё 3-х российских государственных телерадиовещателей на территории ЕС
🔹наказание лиц, ответственных за военные преступления в Украине

UKR: ⚡️Єврокомісія вітає згоду Європейської ради щодо нафтових санкцій проти Росії.

Це фактично скоротить близько 90% імпорту нафти з Росії до ЄС до кінця року.

Крім обмежень на імпорт нафти, шостий пакет санкцій включає в себе:

🔸відключення від SWIFT найбільшого російського банку «Сбєрбанк»
🔸заборону ще трьох російських державних мовників в ЄС
🔸санкції проти осіб, винних у військових злочинах в Україні

Єврорада також підтримала пропозицію надати Україні 9 мільярдів євро, спрямованих на майбутню відбудову країни.

🇺🇦#Важливо Сьогодні Європейська комісія запускає платформу для обміну інформацією між країнами ЄС про осіб, що отримали тимчасовий захист.

Ця платформа дозволить державам-членам ЄС обмінюватися інформацією про зареєстрованих осіб в режимі реального часу, щоб люди, які прибули до ЄС внаслідок війни, могли скористатися своїми правами в усіх країнах ЄС.

Вона також допоможе виправити випадки подвійної або багаторазової реєстрації (наприклад, якщо особа зареєструвалася у Польщі, а згодом у Німеччині), та дозволить запобігти можливим зловживанням тимчасовим захистом.

🇪🇺Today the European Commission is launching an EU-wide platform for the exchange of information on beneficiaries of temporary protection.

The platform will allow EU Member States to exchange information on registered persons in real time so that individuals fleeing Ukraine can effectively benefit from their rights in all Member States.

It will also address instances of double or multiple registrations and limit possible abuse.

The Commission will present a technical solution that is quickly implementable and start the necessary technical work to put it in place.

Today marks the 100th day since the beginning of the war.

100th day of brutal, senseless war.

That’s how long Ukraine has been fighting to preserve its freedom, sovereignty and its very existence in the face of the full-scale Russian assault.

But Ukraine is not alone in this fight.

Since day 1, the EU has stood united in support of the brave and courageous Ukrainian people.

For the 100 days of war there’s over a 100 ways in which the EU has acted to support Ukraine. This includes, among others:

𝐔𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨-𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐢𝐝 – supporting Ukraine’s government and budget
𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – welcoming Ukrainians who have fled from the war
𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬 – averting a global food crisis and allow Ukraine to export its grain
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – helping Ukraine investigate the war crimes committed by Russia
𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬 – committing to fully rebuild Ukraine after the war

In these fifteen dramatic weeks, we have learnt so much about the tenacity of the Ukrainian soul. We will remain unwavering in our support for the country.

🇪🇺The European Commission welcomes the adoption of the sixth package of restrictive measures against Russia.

Together with the previous five packages, the sanctions adopted today are unprecedented and designed to further increase economic pressure on Russia and undermine its ability to wage its war on Ukraine. They also include further sanctions against Belarus considering its involvement in this aggression.

The main highlight of the 6th package are:


🛢 Oil import restrictions

Today's package contains a complete import ban on all Russian seaborne crude oil and petroleum products. This covers 90% of our current oil imports from Russia.

The ban is subject to certain transition periods to allow the sector and global markets to adapt, and a temporary exemption for pipeline crude oil to ensure that Russian oil is phased out in an orderly fashion. This will allow the EU and its partners to secure alternative supplies and minimises the impact on global oil prices.

⛴ Oil transport services

After a wind down period of 6 months, EU operators will be prohibited from insuring and financing the transport, in particular through maritime routes, of oil to third countries.

This will make it particularly difficult for Russia to continue exporting its crude oil and petroleum products to the rest of the world since EU operators are important providers of such services.

🏦 Financial and business services measures

An additional three Russian banks, including Russia's largest bank Sberbank, and one additional Belarussian bank have been removed from SWIFT. These banks are critical for the Russian financial system and Putin's ability to further wage war. It will solidify the isolation of the Russian financial sector from the global system.

The provision of certain business-relevant services - directly or indirectly – such as accounting, auditing, statutory audit, bookkeeping and tax consulting services, business and management consulting, and public relations services to the Russian government, as well as to legal persons, entities or bodies established in Russia are now prohibited.

📺 Broadcasting suspension

The broadcasting activities of another three Russian State outlets – Rossiya RTR/RTR Planeta, Rossiya 24/Russia 24, and TV Centre International – have been suspended. They are among the most important pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets targeting audiences in Ukraine and the EU, and disseminating propaganda in support of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

They will now be barred from distributing their content across the EU, in whatever shape or form, be it on cable, via satellite, on the internet or via smartphone apps.\

🪖Export restrictions

Today's package further expands the list of natural, legal persons or entities associated with Russia's military-industrial complex.

These natural, legal persons or entities are involved in various sectors, such as electronics, communications, weapons, shipyards, engineering and scientific research.The list of Belarusian entities subject to restrictions has been significantly widened (from 1 entity to 25).

This is related to authorisations for the sale, supply, transfer or export of dual-use goods and technology, as well as goods and technology which might contribute to Belarus's military and technological enhancement, or to the development of its defence and security sector.
